Dos and don’t for verification?

I apologize if there is another thread like this but recently I’ve had a couple back to back incidents where different providers will ask for video call as verification (I guess to make sure I’m not a cop), but waits until the absolute last minute to ask. Meaning we have already discussed everything and I am now sitting in a hotel parking lot waiting for a room number and then they ask to video call. One provider called the whole meeting off bc I wouldn’t do a video call, even though I’m physically in the parking lot and can meet in person.

My hesitancy is that idk if people screen shot or screen record a video call and use it as black mail ammo or something. We’ve all gotten crazy cartel death threats at some point in our hobbying, right

Do you feel safe with video calls?
I’d be interested in a thread where safe verification steps are talked about, for both parties, of course. Lmk if there is one already.

I don't sceen by video or want too , what does it prove? (NOTHING )
But I do get a lot of guy's who will ask and not want to screen my normal way.

Your absolutely right Miss Gina. I don't understand why a provider would think doing a video call would prove your not LE. They don't have to tell you the truth..

I get why providers are asking for it from their side it’s a quick way to filter out LE or time wasters but your concern is valid too. Anything on video can be recorded, and once it’s out there you have zero control over it. Personally, I think last minute verification requests are the bigger red flag than the method itself. If someone knows they require a video check, that should be communicated upfront, not when you’re already on-site. That kind of timing puts unnecessary pressure on you to agree to something you’re not comfortable with.

You really can't blame them for being cautious and concerned about their safety ... and having a street-smart, screening protocol ... to weed out LE, timewasters and dangerous troublemakers!
