Blockade news
It is difficult to keep up with what is actually happening, due to the frequent Trump changes and different information from different sources. Even some astute members here are posting incorrect information. What is the real current situation...
- US Navy blockading Iran ports and vessels ?
- Iran blockading all other vessels, or charging a tariff ?
- Chinese bound vessels and some other commercial vessels going through ?
Some reports say no vessels are passing through. Some Chinese reporting say their vessels are passing through. Some say you can pass if you go near Oman waters.
What is the real deal ?

[B] What the US Blockade Actually Is- []The US naval blockade took effect April 13 at 10am ET, under Admiral Brad Cooper at CENTCOM.
[]Enforced against all vessels of all nations entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas. Ships passing through to non-Iranian ports are unaffected.
[]The intercept zone is set up in the Gulf of Oman — ships are allowed to clear the strait first, then intercepted and turned around.
[]Wikipedia — Naval Blockade of Iran
Who Gets Through, Who Doesn't- []✅ Ships transiting the Strait to non-Iranian ports: free passage
[]❌ Ships heading to or from any Iranian port or coastal area: blocked, regardless of nationality
- In the first 24 hours, 10,000+ US personnel, a dozen warships and dozens of aircraft were involved. Six ships were redirected back to Iranian ports.
What's Being Blockaded- []An estimated 90% of Iran's economy runs on international sea trade — CENTCOM says it has been completely halted.
[]The blockade costs Iran an estimated $400 million a day.
[]Iran-linked tankers have stopped, turned around, or gone dark — some faking their GPS locations.
[]Al Jazeera | PBS NewsHour
International Reaction- []China, the UK, Australia, Russia, Spain, and the EU have all opposed the blockade.
[]The UK and France are pushing an alternative multinational mission to open the strait.
- Iran calls it illegal piracy and a ceasefire violation.
Fast-moving situation as of April 16 — peace talks appear to be resuming but nothing is resolved.

If you didn't have an answer, why didn't you just move on? Instead you just attempt to hijack the thread and dilute responses.

Well dang! I even liked your post up until this last bit. But let's be honest. These are not peace talks, they are terms of surrender. I doubt the Iranian Regime will ever have peace. It's just not their nature or even a tiny strand of fiber of their soul.
We should have plenty of time to sort through the obvious decay of NATO, once the Iranian citizens are free of their current bondage.

My previous answer remains: too many people are gulping down on regime talking points and cannot step back to see the bigger pictures.
I try to remain optimistic that the Iranian people will only experience peace once the regime realizes that they, themselves, are dead to the people and the world.

Why?
Because Iran is afraid President Donald J. Trump will turn them into a parking lot.
That's why!

Well... there it is:
If the Iran Regime says it's so, then it is most assuredly
Here is an interesting take on the goings-on there. A little questionable on who is actually funding the below. Nonetheless, it seems to be staying up to date.
Guards say forces 'finger on the trigger' as Trump says Iran war will end soon
Summary- Iran’s internet blackout stretched to 49 days, with connectivity holding at about 2% of normal levels and only limited access to some services, NetBlocks said.
- US President Donald Trump said he was not sure the ceasefire with Iran needs to be extended, adding that the next round of talks with Tehran could take place over the weekend.
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said US President Donald Trump is determined to continue the naval blockade on Iran and efforts to dismantle what remains of its nuclear capabilities.
- US President Donald Trump on Thursday said Israel and Lebanon had agreed to formally begin a 10-day ceasefire at 5 p.m. EST.
- The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine said on Thursday that US forces turned back 13 ships under the Iran blockade, which applies to all vessels heading to or from Iranian ports.
- European countries could help clear mines and escort ships in the Strait of Hormuz, with allies set to discuss efforts to restore navigation, French Defence Minister Catherine Vautrin said on Friday...

Because Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10 day cease fire.
That is a condition Iran set out before resuming peace talks and re opening of the Strait. Little to do with the US Navy blockade.

This right here.
Interesting how this always seems to occur on market closing days. Seems like market manipulation rather than real information.
