Default Is It the Trump Economy Yet?

Hassett was speaking yesterday and was blaming any negative data on the economy on Biden, still. How long with the Trump administration officials try to spin any negative economic data away from their decisions? How long can the blame Biden and still have MAGA folks believing that it’s not because of Trump’s decisions?

I know many of you on here voted for Trump and some like Tiny claimed it was because a Democrat president would be disastrous for the economy. How is that working out? Was Trump the economic genius you believed he’d be?

Maybe Trump 1.0 was really just a continuation of Obama’s 8 years of good economic stewardship (if you objectively look at the trend lines it surely looks that way), rather some great economic moves of the Trump 1.0 administration. Clearly Trump is a failure when it comes to running the economy and is great at putting the economy in ruination.

I couldn't agree more. It is absolutely laughable how they try to blame everything on Biden at this point. The reality is Biden, for all his flaws, got dealt a shit hand. Between supply chain issues due to Covid and the bird flu wiping out (actually most were destroyed) America's laying flocks leading to 5.00 eggs. The results of the Orange Orangutane's policies have fucked the US economy for years, and likely decades to come. Hell, I saw Scott Jennings say Trump brought eggs down 95%, a quick search for the highest price for a dozen and a little math says we should be paying 25 cents a dozen...and the MAGAt's eat lies like that up.

The sad part is that the next President is the one truly fucked. Brilliant ideas like saying our allies need to "learn to fight for themselves" regarding the strait most certainly kicked off global closed door conversations about new alliances and a move from American weapons systems dependency. I did a quick AI assisted research,...and that alone would/will result in the loss of about 500k good paying jobs in the MIC. Add in AI which I think could easily cause 20-25% unemployment rates, the federal deficit explosion under Trump 1/2 and America is in free fall.

I wouldn't want to be 48...

Don't forget Biden being blamed for high gas prices when it was Trumps deal to get OPEC to cut production for 2 years. Consumption was down during the pandemic, so cutting supply wasn't totally off, but 2 years was way too long. Trump also bankrupted over 100 oil and gas companies in 2020.

Please get a grip Blackman. First you say Charlie Kirk's still alive. Now this. I never voted for Trump. Ever. I never said a Democrat president is disastrous for the economy. In fact, I've frequently said Clinton, in his second term, was the last decent president this country had.

I actually think economic policy under a Harris presidency would have been better than under Trump, but ONLY IF Republicans controlled Congress. With Harris, there would have been no erratic tariff policy. No deportations of people who do the work Americans don't want to do. And no war against Iran, although admittedly in the longer term that could be a positive. The jury's out.

Without control of Congress, she wouldn't have been able to undo the crowning economic achievement of the Trump presidency, the corporate tax cuts. And while undoubtedly she'd fuck up economic policy to some extent through overregulation and executive orders, would she do as badly as Trump with his tariffs, poorly planned deportations, and Middle East War?

The problem would have been if Harris got elected and the Democrats controlled the House and Senate. Your party ran off Kirsten Sinema, and Manchin didn't run for re-election. They were by far the wisest Democratic Party voices in the Senate. Half of the ones that are left are loony tunes, like Elizabeth Warren and AOC. Harris, with her former plans to ban fracking and her tax policy is borderline loony tunes. Undoubtedly she'd resurrect some of Joe's 6 trillion spending proposals that never got implemented. Actually she'd probably try to push through those and more.

I wish the bastards in Washington would just devolve the power to the states. All they do is pick our pockets and provide very little in return. And get us into wars.

Maybe you watch too much Fox News Blackman. I haven't heard anyone blaming the bad economy on Biden. That's unlike Democrats who were constantly giving credit to Obama for anything positive during Trump's first term, like you just did. And blaming Trump for Bidenflation.

It’s a recognizable psychological phenomenon called Scapegoat Syndrome.

STILL blaming joey?!?!?!?

Hell, he pulled people out of the Middle East.

trump: shit stained loser. I wonder how he faces himself in the mirror since he stated he doesn't like losers in the military. And him being commander in chief.

He should fall on his sword.

Our 4d madman president has been costly for small and medium sized businesses and farmers. Inflation is heating up, unemployment is growing despite curbing immigration, tariffs are mostly just an added cost to consumers and not a real re-shoring strategy. Corruption and partisan-rule of law is what will kill the baby and the levels in the trump administration are staggering.

For the Maga faithful. trump is correct to: secure the borders, root out corruption, call out woke bullshit, negotiate better terms with bad faith trading partners, support Israel, push Europe to be a better security partner. Unfortunately his competence to accomplish these things ends somewhere around usurping his buddy Epstein on property deals.
