No, the Dems are the walking dead. People blame them for all the problems they're having right now (and rightfully so). Fighting tooth and nail to protect criminal illegals whole trying as hard as possible to inflict pain on the American people. As well as not caring about death threats to ICE agents and their families.

That’s quite the loaded statement. When the opposition party is blamed for all the problems plaguing their version of society it says a lot more about the people who are doing the blaming rather than the blamed.
What’s next. The Inquisition for democrats. Maybe the republican version of the final solution.
Rather than blaming democrats for all their problems Republicans might consider a little more introspection and little less hate mongering.

Uh... no. Look up all of the federal govt shutdowns that have occurred since Newt Gingrich invented this scorched-earth tactic back in 1995. It backfired on the GOP then, and it continues to backfire today on whichever party is dumb enough to try it. Americans can always figure out who the hostage-taker is. No amount of pretzel logic can justify the tactic. This airport fuckery is 100% on the Dems. Just as every GOP-initiated shutdown was wholly on the Republicans. Let's try to be consistent, ok?

You say that but the Senate passed a bill that the republican house passed on. By voting down this legislation (which funded everything but ICE and parts of CBP) they are failing to fund most of the DHS. All to make immigration the issue de jour before the midterms. Do you really think that they can win again on an anti immigration platform?

Ahead of its two-week recess, the Senate agreed to an off-ramp to end the 42-day partial shutdown that has centered on federal immigration enforcement.
The deal that was approved in a voice vote after 2 a.m. funds all of DHS except ICE and parts of CBP. The legislation did not include most of the reforms to federal immigration enforcement that Democrats demanded after federal officers fatally shot two Americans in Minnesota during Mr. Trump's immigration crackdown.

And why did he take so long to announce such?
Just shows that he admits to having the funds and not caring about them. Only wanted to use the TSA as a politial tool for himself.

Oh, lusty knows that. And him being smart, you'd think he'd offer a solution to get those goals that respect the basic human rights of all people in this country.

Senators at last agreed via voice vote early Friday morning to approve a funding package that funds the Department of Homeland Security besides Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and part of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) -- a critical step toward ending most of the 42-day long DHS shutdown.
Agencies that would be funded by the Senate's approved package include TSA, FEMA, The Coast Guard and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
The bill will now head to the House where it will need to be approved. If passed, it will then head to the desk of President Donald Trump, who would need to sign it for it to become law.
House Speaker Mike Johnson was noncommittal on next steps on the funding bill, telling reporters on Friday morning: "Stay tuned."

Yeah. Mikey shitcanned that because his puppet master frowned upon it.

But if you think the Homeland does not need constantly vigilant protection against enemies foreign and domestic, then why bother having a Constitution, much less a Federal government, at all??
Me, on the other hand, think DHS should take a page out of the BLM-Antifa playbook and deport the illegal aliens by any means necessary, seeing whereas they are aliens here illegally.

I didn't see anywhere that txdot said we didn't need protection.

You are intentionally mischaracterizing what happened.
Stung by the public's anger at them, the hostage-taking Dems are offering to release some of their hostages while continuing to hold others. Sorry txdot, they're still hostage-takers. The end doesn't justify the means.

I don’t believe that I’m mischaracterizing anything. Unfortunately that’s how our system of government works. In a closely divided government where the power lies in the power of the purse government disfunction and chaos follows if compromise can’t be achieved.
You just want to blame one side for advocating for the desires of their constituents more than the other.
Senate Democrats want to fund most of the government except for the part where they disagree with the way it’s working. I.E. ICE and CBP. They want to be seen as opposing Trump and making sure Federal law enforcement acts less like storm troopers and more like police.
Republicans want to paint democrats as destroying the country by allowing an invasion of foreigners who will rape, rob, and suckle at the government teat.
I really believe that this is being dragged out on both sides because the Republicans want to continue to use this as a wedge issue in the midterms.
Don’t you?

Why do democrats want to remove funding from the people who stop foreigners from coming into the country illegally, and the ones who remove them when they did? We all know the answer to that question, but many won’t admit it.

What they really want, but won't come out and say, is to ABOLISH ICE. Once you dissolve the enforcement mechanism for our immigration laws, then you've thrown the borders wide open again. Overstay your visa? Asylum claim denied? Commit a crime? Not to worry - there's nobody around to deport you!
The reason Dems won't admit this is because they remember how badly the DEFUND THE POLICE movement backfired on them after the George Floyd riots. They know they have to be sneakier this time. Hide those ABOLISH ICE banners. Instead, let's just say we're fighting for "reforms" like body cams and removing facemasks lol.

Yawn. Just more screeching that's somebody is "MAGA" when they point out the obvious truth. I don't own any hats like you seem to be obsessing over. Here's a little fact for you. If they entered this country illegally, they are already criminals. There's nothing wrong with the system. The Dems just want it completely removed. And replaced with NOTHING.

Seeking asylum is not illegal and does not make them criminal illegals. They can't leave the country until their case is presented in court and this can take years, sometimes 8 to 10 years.
There is no provision to apply for this protection from abroad.
INA § 208 (8 U.S.C. § 1158): Establishes the right to apply for asylum. Applicants must generally apply within one year of arrival
I think I remember a Republican led bipartisan Immigration bill that Trump stomped on. We are living under immigration law written in the 1960s. There was some reform in the mid 80s.

Democrats have learned their lessons. A porous border is no longer in the cards. I really believe that the only desire by congressional democrats is to reform ICE and Border Patrol and to stop the terror tactics being used to paint every illegal alien or protester as evil villains out to destroy the United States.
No other police force in the country operates the way ICE does.
The list of requests that congressional democrats want are designed to make sure that transparency and accountability are part of the mission of the federal police.
If that keeps ICE and the border patrol from doing their jobs then they are doing something wrong in the first place.
