Remember the words of Rocket Raccoon...
In Avengers: Infinity War, Rocket announced the arrival of powerful reinforcements. To paraphrase, THE WARTHOG IS IN THEATER, NOW YOU'RE FUCKED!
The A10 Thunderbolt II is now flying the friendly skies of Iran looking for snacks to feast on. The A10, also affectionately known as the Warthog, is the ultimate ground attack aircraft.
In a side note, the Marine Amphibious Group has arrived with thousands of marines, Ospreys, and LCACs.
Some of you bet on Iran, is that your final answer?

So you're saying we have marines in Iran? Love the Warthog but also bet Iran has some FeiNu-6 MANPADs laying around.

Technically marines are on the way from Japan on the USS TRIPOLI. We haven't been told exactly when they left. It could have been yesterday, the day before, or today. One more thing for crippled, limp dick sonny boy to think about.

I'm sure he's trembling with only a million man army between him and a 2,500 man MEU. So what exactly is the point of them? Do you really think he's dumb enough to try to go in via land with 2,500 marines? I say it's press fodder and nothing more. Sometime when you're bored try this: open a browser, type "missile cities" in the search bar and see what happens, if you believe we have "destroyed Iran's capability to wage war".

If a pilot goes down inside of Iran, who goes and gets him? If Kharg Island needs to be occupied so we don't have to destroy the oil facilities, that exactly why we have marines.
Are you referring to the Centcom commander Admiral Cooper?

No, I'm referring to the limp dick sonny boy CiC. The one that said "every target on Kharg island has been destroyed" so why would it need to be occupied?
As far as a pilot going down, let's pray that doesn't happen. And if it does, let's pray for the crew dispatched for recovery...assuming, and big assumption that he doesn't end up in IRGC hands. You do realize that while most, but not all Iranians are not in favor of their rulers, 20-30% do. That's a lot of eyes to see who takes in said pilot...

The word is every military target on Kharg Island. May want to take the last vestige of oil from Iran.

Dear Schwarzer, Do you love the smell of napalm in the morning? Because this thread surely makes it seem like you do.
I would like to achieve victory over Iran. But glorifying the weapons we use and the destruction that follows is really not a good idea. This isn’t a video game and there are real world consequences to follow.
I would really love it if someone in the administration could explain why we attacked in the first place and what criteria is required for victory but I suspect that no one in this the White House really knows the answers to those questions.

According to this article the A10’s were recently assigned to provide air support for a littoral combat ship doing mine countermeasures. Possibly that’s going to be their next mission in the middle east.
This is from the article.
https://www.armyrecognition.com/news...e-against-iran
On February 2, 2026, an A-10C aircraft flew armed overwatch for USS Santa Barbara (LCS-32), an Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship configured with the Mine Countermeasures Mission Package, during a drill in the Arabian Gulf. Visible loadout included 500 lb Joint Direct Attack Munitions, a LITENING targeting pod, a seven-shot 2.75-inch rocket pod assessed as Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II, and a 600-gallon centerline fuel tank for extended endurance. The pairing aimed to protect mine-hunting operations in constrained waters near the Strait of Hormuz from fast-boat swarms, drones, and mining threats, while unmanned surface vehicles and MH-60S helicopters extended detection and neutralization outward from the ship. In October 2025, an A-10C returning from a roughly six-month deployment under callsign TABOR61 displayed two Shahed-type drone silhouettes on its nose, aligning with counter-UAS engagements during Operation Inherent Resolve.

I was there in 1991 at "the highway of death" collecting intelligence material. Estimated 100,000 dead. Most of them trying to escape and go home.

What I have heard on the news last night was that a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) was being deployed to the Indian Ocean and the Middle East from Japan. They are expected to arrive in two weeks.

What I have heard is that all m military targets were destroyed. By occupying the island we would deny the current regime any ability to export oil to China and remove that island as a base for attacking ships exiting the Arabian Gulf.
By n ot destroying he oil terminal we would be preserving that for a future "friendly: government in Iran. Occupying it gives us leverage to persuade newer Iranian leaders to be more "friendly".

Actually, within two weeks. Maybe a week. Maybe a few days.
