Default Trump and Australia SAVE Iran Football

... G'day Stumpers,

... With our NEW joint venture (Trump Tower - Queensland) aside,
it's GRAND that Trump and Salty were able to SAVE and protect
the Iran Women's football team - by granting them Asylum
in Australia for the time being.

Some of the Iranian footballers were afraid for their-own safety
for refusing to sing the Iranian anthem the other day.
A few of the ladys were also flashing "S.O.S." hand-signals
during their last match...

... Some of the Iran players asked for and were granted
Asylum after President Trump pushed Australian PM Albanese
(NOT a mate of mine) to grant it for the Iran footballers.
Albanese initially refused - but Trump then surely became
VERY persuasive and thus Albanese relented.

President Trump didn't bother to ask me to intercede,
as He's prolly aware that I surely don't fancy Anthony Albanese
and his rather shitty brand of politics... So Trump
was able to accomplish things in His-own manner.

... A good number of Iranian players WILL return to Iran
as they have family and children there - who have been
threatened by Iran Officials... But five or six others
asked for Asylum protection and it will be provided.

And a GRAND thing all around that President Trump and
of course Australia were alble to help in this matter! ...

Trump sees a problem and fixes it. I am surprised that the left doesn't find one player under 18 and fantasize about Trump's motives.

The iranian football team had been offered asylum before Trump got involved.
I’ll give some credit for Trump offering asylum but in the way you want it to be.

Quote:
Five members of the team have accepted an offer of asylum in Australia, as their teammates waited for a resumption of international flights to their war-beleaguered homeland.

Apparently unaware that the team members had already been offered asylum in Australia, Trump warned of grave consequences in a post on social media on Monday if they were "forced" to return to Iran. He warned Australia was making "a terrible humanitarian mistake" and addressed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese directly, writing: "Don’t do it, Mr. Prime Minister, give ASYLUM. The U.S. will take them if you won't."

An hour later, Trump posted on social media congratulating Albanese for "doing a very good job," noting that five team members had "already been taken care of." Trump also said that some members of the team "feel they must go back" due to safety concerns for their families, including "threats to those family members if they don’t return."
