The sad fact of the matter is that VitaMan is correct when he says she was thrown under the bus.

She was only the face of DHS. The scapegoat. While Miller...and to a smaller extent, Trump...controlled actual policy behind the scenes, she had to deliver it.

Now, after everything has gone very badly, she takes the fall.

But the real players are still in place.
