I do not. Used to be a time when immigrants had to assimilate into the standard and philosophy of the US and that appears gone.
Don’t need them bringing their failed government ideaologies from their home country and then trying to influence US policy and government to move that direction. GTFOH.

There is your mistake. Immigrants never had to assimilate. My wife's father spoke Hungarian until he started school. Her grandfather on her mother's side first language was Slovak and could barely write in English. Another relative speaks with a strong Serbian accent. This is typical of Western PA. Maybe you're too young to recognize this.

I’m pretty sure the intent of the poem wasn’t to transform the country into a corrupt, third world shithole.

Are you going to tell me about the Pledge of Allegiance being written by a socialist next?

Yes, in that context. You agreed Biden let in 11.9 million illegals. Period. Full stop.

Who would you say has assimilated better - your relatives or the Somalis in Minneapolis?

No. That's encounters which includes people that never entered the U.S. and who did so multiple times.
This is why I told you to follow those breadcrumbs. Sadly, you never figured it out despite being handed the data

I was never "handed the data". Everyone knows you avoid actual data like the plague. The number I was looking for was how many illegals were allowed into the US under Biden. You agreed it was 11.9 million. I quoted you directly. In context. Full stop. End of story.

Is the point that illegals came in or the amount of them? Every administration has had illegals come in and the fact that Biden had a more open policy is not disputed.
BUT
Border Encounters and Entries
Total Nationwide Encounters: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded approximately 10.8 to 11 million encounters nationwide between fiscal years 2021 and 2024.
"Encounters" include both people apprehended between ports of entry and those deemed inadmissible at ports of entry.
Unique Individuals: Because of high "recidivism" (individuals attempting to cross multiple times), the number of unique people is lower than the total encounters.
"Gotaways": Estimates suggest roughly 1.6 to 2 million "known gotaways"—people detected by technology but not apprehended—entered the country during this period.
SO finding 1.6-2.0 mm ppl shouldn't be so hard with Trump touting he has all the information and details. (Despite no proof of that)
What has been a loose immigration enforcement in many administrations, the current one has decided that deprivation of rights and gestapo tactics of secret police is what's the problem. I don't think there's an easy answer where everybody gets pleased, but I do think having masked police and security people is not the way to do it.
The question of what happened to America, is apt in the fact that there are plenty of people here who think that our civil rights should not be discounted - and the people that are doing the deprivation of those rights are hiding under the guise of being good servants of the government. They are assuredly not

Eye, what we want to know from the TDS crowd, including you is:
Why have basically all western governments shifted to an open border policy when libs are in power?
Why did the typical Dem move along with this shift that happened 10 years ago?
What happens to the current economic model and policies that have made the US the most dominant on the planet, when said new immigrants receive legal voting rights and are enough to tip the elections to perma-blue while influencing policy implementation that align with the very unsuccessful 3rd world.
And lastly do you see your personal situation improving if the above occurs?
This is the path to the downfall of America.

Ever hear of the Naturalization Act? Yes and of course I get that immigrants may keep certain customs from the homeland.
So do you think illegals that may have very different values regarding women, LGBTQ, marriage ages, etc are compatible with western culture and values?
Who pays the price for this disconnect? The commoner does, not the politician in the ivory tower. And that’s ok why?

I gave you years worth of DHS, asylum court and border data, Lusty. You can lie to yourself as you need to
You are using encounters out of context... yet again.
If the total population was about 15 million, you didn't get 12 million of them in 4 years. That is an asinine talking point. And you should be able to see how ridiculous that rate of churn would be. There is a specific reason those are considered encounters rather than individual people. I've given you that multiple times. Eye has done it above as well.
This is an excellent example of what exactly has happened to America. You're not looking for a conversation, you're looking for a checkbox data point to satisfy your confirmation bias that you can bludgeon your perceived opponent over the head with and pretend you're right and are "owning the libs"
The goal here clearly isn't to have learned debate or to solve problems. You're not solving any problems on a hooker board

Nope. Never happened. You did exactly the opposite. I invited you to give us your estimate of how many illegals flooded into the country under Biden, and you provided bupkis. That's how you roll, everybody knows it.
Then alas, you did finally blurt out a number, saying you agreed with me. Here it is again:

Are you crawfishing again? Look it up... sorry, I'm not "lying to myself". You are.

Excuse me, but you started this kerfuffle by challenging my 12 million figure in post #14 of this thread. I'm not trying to "own the libs". But it would be nice if you could occasionally "own" your previous posts.

So... if you're not here for learned debate, then what are you here for? To troll the trumpers? Even trolls need to cite facts, otherwise they just end up trolling themselves.

But there's something different about people from Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, etc than people from Somalia. Funny how MAGA is cool with certain immigrants and not cool with others.
Norway? Sweden? Welcome aboard!
Guatemala? Haiti? GTFOH.
I wonder why... hmmm... it's mystifying.

I'm here to have fun, Lusty. And I do. Daily
11.9 million was was the estimated total encounter figure from November 2024 but through the end of the prior fiscal year. Eye provided you the updated range.
The post you're partially quoting from has a link to one of the very databases you said I didn't give you.
Encounters is not a measure of unique people. It is not a measure of how many people were let in by Biden. It's the same stat that Ted Cruz still misuses, so you're in good company.
Lie as you want to about the rest, I'm still all smiles.

FTFY, jayzee.
Actually, it's easy to explain. Dems prefer immigrants from failed states that are rife with corruption, fraud and political dysfunction.
Those are the values Dems hope to spread far & wide throughout the Land of the Free.

That's not what's different about them. Guess again. You're not close.
By the way, Serbia and Hungary have plenty of "corruption, fraud and political dysfunction".
