Default BREAKING — Supreme Court rules Trump’s emergency tariffs ILLEGAL

Maybe now, the fat fuckin felon fascist can tie credit for bringing down prices, seeing how he’s a major reason they went up.

He’s on the run.

great news!
i wonder if they'll make him repay everything. our deficit is so awful under Trump, i almost hope they won't make him pay everyone back. (his federal revenue numbers suck otherwise under the Big Ugly Bill. that monstrosity should be repealed, but that's a separate thread.)

Love it!

“The justices rejected Trump’s expanded use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) in imposing tariffs on nearly every country. The 1970s-era law allows the president to “regulate” imports when necessary to respond to national emergencies that pose an “unusual and extraordinary” threat.
“We claim no special competence in matters of economics or foreign affairs,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote.
“We claim only, as we must, the limited role assigned to us by Article III of the Constitution. Fulfilling that role, we hold that IEEPA does not authorize the President to impose tariffs.”

Poor orange fuck. Can't even convince his own stacked SCOTUS to go along with his bullshit.

I have the right to put tariffs on for national security purposes, countries that have been ripping us off for years. You know what they were doing? They were using tariffs.”
All he's done is bankrupt hundreds of small businesses. I hope they all get their pay.

how many of you realize unfair trade was part of the Marshall plan after WWII? it was needed and deliberate post WWII to allow both Allies (UK, France, all of Europe and Axis (Germany, Japan, Italy) to rebuild.

who here still thinks this deliberate unfair trade is still needed today? anyone think the EU and the rest of the world is still recovering from WWII?

The Supreme Court Got It Right on IEEPA—But Don’t Pop the Champagne Yet

https://www.cato.org/blog/supreme-co...-champagne-yet

The Supreme Court’s decision to strike down President Trump’s International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) tariffs is a welcome victory for constitutional governance and the rule of law. But anyone hoping this spells the end of the administration’s tariff spree should think twice. Even without IEEPA, the president retains ample statutory authority to quickly recreate much of the current trade policy chaos.

This discussion isn't about trade. It's about Trump violating the fucking law, again.
