Default Trump slashes Big Pharma prices!!!!

President Trump has implemented agreements with pharmaceutical companies to significantly reduce prescription drug prices for Americans, particularly through the TrumpRx program. These measures aim to lower costs for various medications, including those for diabetes and other chronic conditions.

Drug policy experts say that the site will likely only be helpful for a limited number of patients.

"This is a website that has undergone a lot of hype, but it's not clear exactly how much it's going to help those people who use prescription drugs," says Dr. Ben Rome, a health policy researcher at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. "And for the vast majority of people, it's going to continue to be less expensive for patients to purchase their medicines using their insurance than it is to pay cash prices for the medicines, even if those cash prices are highly discounted below the manufacturer prices."

For people with insurance, co-pays are likely to be cheaper than the cash prices. The trumpRx site acknowledges that in summaries of the savings by drug: "This is an out-of-pocket price. If you have insurance, check your co-pay first—it may be even lower."

Calm down, guys. This is just more trumpian bullshit and bluster.

How Much Could Customers Save on Drugs?
According to a White House fact sheet, participating drugmakers have agreed to sharply reduce list prices on select medications, with examples cited including the cholesterol drug Repatha falling from about $573 to $239 and the diabetes drug Jentadeuto dropping from about $525 to $55 when sold through the platform.
Pfizer announced in October that its prescription drugs would be offered through the site. Trump has also said discounted drugs from Merck will be available.
In December, Trump announced that nine major pharmaceutical companies agreed to join his "most favored nation" pricing policy, bringing down the price of prescription drugs for Medicare and Medicaid recipients. The deal ensured that drugs will be sold at reduced prices, with many sold at the same price that they're sold at overseas, which will be purchased through the TrumpRx platform at "massive discounts," Trump has said.

All of which still be cheaper under insurance co-pays.

More smoke and mirrors by a failed businessman.

Well, duh. You wouldn’t need a discount if you’re only paying an insurance co-pay, that’s what insurance of any type is for.

That aside, TrumpRX is pretty useless in many cases other than being a link aggregator of discounts that are already available. I guess it can save some time in that regard. The most glaring example is GlP1s. If you plug whichever one you’re taking into TrumpRX, it just redirects you to the manufacturer’s website where that discount has been available (with lots of conditions) for quite some time. There may be some things on there that offer exclusive deals, IDK, but none of the ones my Mrs prescribes on any kind of regular basis is discounted beyond what’s already available.

As for the GLP1s, and obviously this is a bit tangential, the insurance companies, including Medicare/aid, are dumb AF for discontinuation of coverage without meeting strict conditions because the long term cost of diabetes is exponentially higher than covering a preventative now.

These are NOT new prices only for Trump RX. They are the same prices as Singlecare and GoodRx. I mean- did you all really think that Trump was somehow gonna get anything more than a few pats on the back and a gold statue holder from Apple?

I'm sure he set up the website to keep a share of a few percentage points on the orders, but looking at how he handles his life and his investments it's no wonder he just stole somoene elses ideas; He literally is amazed by same-old cell phones based on Samsung models- long as they are gold colored and have his dumb ass name on them, Bibles based on free ones that are given out for free-of-charge and then had the lyrics put in the front for 59.99 each....and lets not forget- the shittiest gold shoes that any Rube could find on Temu, and charged his idiot followers 399.00 per pair! The EXTORTION KING!

His RX plan doesn't include a majority of drugs that could or are regularly used by Americans. Usage of GLP1's hovers between 12-15% - so hardly the critical use stuff. How about the percentage of americans on heart meds or blood thinners. I'm certain Eliquis isn't on that list- and there are far higher % of elderly folks who need that type of medication as life saving - vs. thinner waist line. Fat Fuck himself is taking aspirin in higher doses to correct his vascular disease from his shitty diet and terrible genes. C'mon little clot!!!

GLP1s aren’t a weight loss drug, that’s a side effect. There’s a whole lot of people out there who don’t process insulin right because of problems with their pancreas, that’s what the drug helps with. Weight loss is a bonus.

Not saying that's the issue. The claim of Trumpy boy RX is what I'm saying. I can't get the one pharma RX I take on that site. Seems like it's literally focused on one direction and even the singlecare and good rx have more solutions and same or better prices. I just don't see how this is a win, when it's already been done in general.

Sell mifipristone or morning after pills and you would have a better acceptance. Or even birth control at low rates..

Or would Ken Paxton shit himself? How about Prep pills for sexually active ppl? And home testing for all levels of things from kidneys, liver, bladder, Cancer and on...

It's only a "win" because MAGA dipshits love it when trump slaps his big, dumb name on something. Doesn't matter what it is or what it does.

In reality, trumpRX is just another scam like every other thing in trump's entire, shitty existence.
