Default Medical Question:need some advice

I’ve been having trouble getting hard the last few years. I was already dealing with major depression and never bother to get it “fixed”. Now I’ve been taking vitamin d pills weekly and getting testerone shots every two weeks. I notice a small improvement but that’s it.

My question is this:is it safe to take the OTC erection pills from a convenience store? I can arrange a threesome where I live. Just asking if any of yall has taken them.

Asking for medical advice on a hooker site is nuts, you should consult your physician IMO.

Google the OTC supplements info and trust only the info from a reputable medical site such as Mayo, JAMA, etc. I wouldn't believe any medical info from ECCIE. If you ask "is it ok to breathe" someone would prob say "no".

Actually, ask your physician for a referral to an Urologist (who are the medical specialists for that part of the body).

It's safe-ish. It either has 1) nothing that actually works or 2) stuff that works that its not legally supposed to have in it.

I usually went based on FDA warnings. If the FDA warned that it had viagra, it probably did. Rarely a miss.

But also, strongly reconsider ED meds.

Wait. It’s ok to breathe?

To OP, AI says:
Most OTC “ED Supplements” Lack Proven Effectiveness
Most products marketed as ED pills are dietary supplements, meaning:
They aren’t regulated like medications and don’t have to prove effectiveness.
Some contain hidden prescription drugs (like sildenafil or tadalafil), which can be dangerous—especially with medications such as nitrates.
Scientific evidence supporting reliable improvement in erections is limited.

Common Ingredients in OTC ED Supplements
These ingredients are commonly marketed for sexual health, but evidence is mixed or limited:
 L-arginine
An amino acid that may increase nitric oxide and improve blood flow. Small studies suggest modest benefit, but results vary and side effects or interactions can occur.
 Panax ginseng
Traditionally used for sexual function. Some studies suggest possible benefit, but evidence is limited.
 DHEA
A hormone precursor marketed for libido or ED. Evidence is mixed, and long-term safety is unclear.
Other herbal blends (horny goat weed, maca, ginkgo)
Often promoted for ED, but clinical evidence is lacking.

❗ Yohimbe / Yohimbine
Despite being common in ED supplements:
Effectiveness is unproven.
It can cause serious side effects (high blood pressure, anxiety, heart issues) and is not recommended.

A Regulated, Non-Prescription Option Exists — but It’s Not a Supplement
Eroxon (MED3000) gel is an FDA-cleared topical ED treatment, not a dietary supplement. Applied shortly before intercourse, it works locally to increase blood flow. Clinical trials show many men achieve erections suitable for intercourse within about 10 minutes. Because it’s FDA-cleared, it’s safer than unregulated oral supplements.

Safest bet (if you’re not already on a blood thinner, blood pressure meds, or aspirin regimen): in my non medical opinion: don’t eat for the 3 to 4 hours before or just a light snack. Take two 325 mg aspirin, IF YOU’RE ABLE, about 45 minutes to an hour before with 12 ounces or more of warm water.

Natural things that actually have some evidence of working:

If you want the most bang-for-your-buck “natural” options:
Regular exercise (especially walking, squats, cardio)
One of the strongest natural boosters for erections.

Good sleep
Low sleep = low testosterone.

Reduce porn & chronic stress
Huge factor, especially if erections are weak but desire is there.

Stop smoking / reduce alcohol

First see your doctor as others have said. OTC ED supplements are worthless in my opinion. One of the best things you can do do is lose weight if you're the least bit overweight. I'm using Rx ED pills but Iost 25lbs and it made a HUGE difference.

Hard to know which gas station pills will work for you if at all. They're mainly supplements and everyone's body reacts differently.
Do you have a problem getting it up/staying hard while with a lady or in general?
You may just need some extra physical & mental stimulation.

I agree that over the counter stuff is probably not really gonna work, but I am going to add my personal experience here. I took cordyceps mushroom because it was supposed to help with immune system function (flu season), and it may have, but I did not know at the time I took it that it was a libido enhancer.

I would get so horny I would have constant sex dreams and would literally orgasm in my sleep. I was a raging nympho, so I googled it. Apparently they call cordyceps the Himalayan Viagra, lol. You have to take quite a bit for effect, I was taking 6 pills a day consistently for a week, thinking I was boosting immunity. lol.

Google "cordyceps mushroom libido"

It might help.

cordyceps mushroom

Evidence & Research
Traditional Use: Used for centuries in Asia for energy and sexual health.
Animal Studies: Show significant improvements in sexual behavior and testosterone in diabetic rats.
Human Studies: Some show increased sperm count, motility, and testosterone in men; others report improvements in low libido in both sexes, robust clinical trials are limited.

I gave some to my pet rat who just happens to be diabetic. It’s been 4 hours and I can’t tell the difference between his tail and his erect weenie. We’re watching Minnie Mouse movies and he has a glassy look in his eyes. Should I call the vet? Or Waffles the pussycat?

I got ahold of some pills "Pun Intended" that somebody recommended. Kind of a strange reaction for me. I took 1 pill and it didn't seem to affect me that day, however...I noticed for several days after I took the pill, I was packing some rod. So I guess you could say they worked for me, at least on a delayed basis.
