Default Chiefs coming to KS.

MO FAFO'd... Kinda sad seeing that whole site razed in the next 4-5 years. But at some point new stadiums are needed and repairs/renovations are extremely expensive also. We would still have over 50yo stadiums after all that.

Funny part is the media other than flying over the stadium will still show downtown KCMO.
It isnt like they will show downtown KCK
Or the outlets at the legends
Double slap in the face to Missouri lmfao.
Now Missouri will have lost 3 different football teams
And in the entire state will have basically 1 real pro team the Cardinals...soccer to me doesnt count.
Missouri had the chance and they fucked it up

Exactly.

Frankly the $ that KCMO, Jackson County & State of Missouri were offering was a joke. The sad part of that is that the politicians actually thought that the Hunt family would pass on the immensely better deal that Kansas offered.

Next up, The Royals. There's no place in KC MO with 9 city blocks in a square pattern plus 2 or 3 additional blocks for parking.

Honestly, I think this whole thing is a NOTHING burger. They interviewed some old gals on TV crying about, "but they've always been the KANSAS CITY Chiefs". Get a clue. There still the Kansas City Chiefs, and would have been if they were in Olathe or in Wyandotte. I mean if people still want to go to the games then they just have to drive 20 miles west, and quite frankly most of the "fans" who attend games probably live in the richer subdivisions on the Ks side anyway. In all honesty I voted against the sales tax and am damn proud of it. Just another billionare owner, (who inherited the team from papa) and he wants to extort the Jackson county tax payers (many of whom can't even afford to attend games or pay for parking) to pay to upgrade his Taj Mahal stadium. Maybe f he wasn't paying 110 Million dollars per year to just THREE players he wouldn't be so destitute that he needs to come to tax payers to fix HIS house. Its time Joe fan says "ENOUGH", a pox on all your houses, rich billionares. Some say this move will hurt businesses in KCMO. Why? people who visit for games will still need hotels. Downtown is only 15 minutes away at most, and same for the restaurants. And frankly if this is such a loss for the businesses perhaps they should have been the ones to "ante up" Since they supposedly have skin in the game, because most Jackson county tax payers do not. Let the folks on the KS side pay for this extortion for awhile. They better hope those 3 billion in bonds work out or they're going to have a mess on their hands.

Royals stadium would fit nicely at Indian Springs. Right at the confluence of two interstates, and nothing of value would be lost putting it there.

Falcon you said what is basically behind the reasons it got shot down on the sales tax question. Packers and Bears both have older stadiumx and are iconic venues. Silver spoon raised children just looking for a pay day is what it boils down to.

Royals will probably get there pY day from the state of misery in the end.

The last straw for me was after it was voted down, (so bring us a better plan), Hunts wife does an interview where she starts shaming the county tax payers for not voting to pay a big chunk of this. I mean REALLY. This rich biioottcchh probably hasn't done a days work in her life and probably has a servant to wipe her ass. but according to her the tax payers let her husbands team down. The damn audacity of these people just burns my ass...

$3 billion for a stadium plus another billion for a practice facility and they won't raise taxes. Famous last words. If that is so, why is about half of Johnson county and all of Wyandotte county included in the STAR bonds district. Me thinks the poor suckers who live in that zone will be eventually paying in some way or another.

Well, they better hope this "commercial project" grows the areas revenue to make up for that 3 billion there expecting in additional sales and use taxes.

Not sure what they paid for the last group of free agents, but as I said just Mahomes, Kelsey and Jones make a combined 125 MILLION $ per year. Kelsey will probably not return, and Mahomes is starting to have recurring ankle and leg injuries. They got some real work to do on their salary cap. I'm sure they'll extend Mahomes ridiculous contract out for a decade mortgaging the teams future if his injuries persist.

Of course Kansas Taxpayers will pay. I think KS Governor Laura Kelley's statement of "no new taxes" is misleading.

I suspect the county and state have agreed to forgo sales taxes or business taxes from the facility for some long period of time. Deal probably included no Property Taxes for a decade. Then there are the costs of infrastructure the state will pay for.

I remember seeing a video a few years ago where experts estimated these pro sports stadium deals are never a net benefit to taxpayers.

The "new" Kansas Pro Sports Stadium Star Bonds are repaid mostly by Sales Taxes.
