Actually the "angst" goes back further than on month ago. It started when Trump fired the sitting board of trustees on the Kennedy Center and appointed his lackeys to replace them and named himself as chairman. It was obvious back then what his goal was.

No one else but Trump would attempt this. And what is the point of renaming it ?
He is our national nightmare.

He’s obsessed with all things Kennedy. It damned sure isn’t for his commitment to the performing arts or American culture, He’s an affront to both.
The lying sack of shit said he didn’t know about it and was surprised by it but was honored by it.
Trump called into the board meeting before the board voted to change the name.
An insult born of lies.
When this regime crashes, it’s gonna crash all the way.

Only assassinated presidents should get naming rights for that center. Attempted doesn't count.

The Earless Leader has no right to be mentioned in the same breath as "arts"
If anything, his life has been a profile in cowardice.

If it was a sports arena, I wouldn't have any problem with that. But it seems people who own sports arenas have a problem with attaching a name to him.
So, I guess he had to go to something he could bypass official channels. So what? One maggie knows what it's about. Personally, I think the Washington Monument would have been more fitting for him.
But if he wants to hang his name to a family of Irish booze runners, there is a high school in my town that might get his interest. In the school district that got the Robinhood $$$ distribution for schools going. He'd get brownie points from the hispanics. But the Chicanos may not let it happen.

Maria Shriver tweeted: (JFK's niece if you didn’t know who she is.)
The Kennedy Center was named after my uncle, President John F Kennedy. It was named in his honor. He was a man who was interested in the arts, interested in culture, interested in education, language, history. He brought the arts into the White House, and he and my Aunt Jackie amplified the arts, celebrated the arts, stood up for the arts and artists. It is beyond comprehension that this sitting president has sought to rename this great memorial dedicated to President Kennedy. It is beyond wild that he would think adding his name in front of President Kennedy's name is acceptable. It is not. Next thing perhaps he will want to rename JFK Airport, rename the Lincoln Memorial, the Trump Lincoln Memorial. The Trump Jefferson Memorial. The Trump Smithsonian. The list goes on.
Can we not see what is happening here? C'mon, my fellow Americans! Wake up! This is not dignified. This is not funny. This is way beneath the stature of the job. It's downright weird. It's obsessive in a weird way. Just when you think someone can't stoop any lower, down they go...

The bright side is that fake plastic Wally world gold will come off easy while he's rotting in a grave. How many Hitler memorials can you find in Germany?

You made me think that he did this because no one is gonna build a place for him to park his name on.
TxDot, you have just illuminated how sad and pathetic the guy must be and feel to do this for himself since no maggies are putting together something for him. Hell, he has to do spagetti (sp) lawsuits just to pay for a presidential library.
Guy must really be feeling lonely and rejected.

Putting trumps name on the Kennedy Center is like adding Hitler to the Washington monument.

Yupper.
So sad that a guy who calls himself a builder is so personally dejected that his flaccid ego can't get a structure up and has to do the name change viagra treatment.
It really is sad. I actually feel sympathy for the dejected dude.
I think his efforts would be better spent on that High School I mentioned....except for the fact he probably can't grift anything in an economically depressed part of town.

I can't wait for 3 years when his name is removed and the ballroom is torn down, that will be a great day for America.

Amen to that, but I still don’t think he finishes his term.
