I work downtown and yeah, there’s very rarely any providers in downtown proper. There were some in midtown, but I believe all those are gone now.

Best bet is med center / NRG area, though some are occasionally in the Heights and Madison is relatively close by as she points out.

closest thing I have mapped near DT is F&T spa
right where Elgin becomes Westheimer.

Thank you, darlin'.

It's funny that so many people "hate" downtown. I lived there for a year and absolutely loved it.

although h-town's public transit is no NYC or Boston, anyone who is driving there is doing it all wrong. if you're already close by, just hop on the Red Line, which runs north and south through downtown. if you're coming from the burbs, grab a commuter bus from wherever to one of the transit centers like the Tmc TC or Downtown TC, and catch the Red Line from there, which connects to green and purple lines if needed.

if you use Google Maps, map your destination address and the Public Transport option, and it will give you possible routes. and then there's Uber too.

downtown is not all that bad for in or outcalls actually.

I used to ride the Red Line from the North Line transit center (end of line north) to Dryden station for work. Would take the 40 line south to Tidwell, hope the 45 line east which turned south on Fulton and stopped at the North Line transit center, hopped the train and was at work in about 45 minutes total. Reversed this for getting home.

Cost me 1.25 in the morning as my company issued Metro Card did not work outside of The Medical Center so they paid for my ride home.

Nice thing is if wanted to and did not bring my rolling tool back with me I could get off at the Cavalcade station where there is a SPA.

They are supposedly building a 500+ parking spot parking garage at north line station which will make things nicer.

There are some pricey hotels on the Red Line and that $1.25 gets you a 3 hour window of ride time Just figure out where you want to park your vehicle or take a ride share to the train station, pay to ride to the nearest station, walk a bit, go have fun, if need be pay another 1.25 to ride train back to your home area.

I agree. My in call was in the Heights and I worked a civie job downtown for fifteen years.
I have so many great memories from downtown.
Christmas time was so pretty.
