It incentivizes builders to build more homes and apartments.

Why? Be clear about what the incentive is to the builders.
LOL... We both know the answer and we both know you will avoid saying it because it demolishes your whole ideal about "immigrants" are helping us BS narrative.
The illegals are driving up home prices because they are adding to the demand curve when they have NO RIGHT TO BE HERE.
That means your fellow Americans pay more for homes because you love illegals more than your American neighbors.
There's a word for that...
And in other news...
"We believe the Somali fraud operation in Minnesota is the single greatest theft of taxpayer dollars, through welfare fraud, in American history." Just more wonderful immigrants helping out America...

Trumps approval rating on immigration has dropped like a stone ever since his masked army started dragging women and children out of their homes and cars, even those who were US citizens.
There's a word for that too.

Illegal immigrants bring the price of housing for most Americans down. Illegals tend to congregate in older, cheaper rental units. When was the last time you visited your favorite Cuban stripper and she was living in some low rent apartment with five roommates?
This isn't the kind of housing that's setting prices for middle class America.
On the other hand, illegal immigrants work in low skilled positions in residential construction, doing the kind of work Americans don't want to do. They increase the labor supply in construction. That brings down costs.
So what's not to like? Everybody's a winner! The illegal immigrant, the slum lord, the hardworking American who gets more house for the money, and the American construction workers who move up to skilled positions and let the illegals do the grunt work.
I do agree having illegals in America is not ideal. The politicians need to stop the flow, deport the criminals, and convert the rest to guest workers who will at some point leave. That's how the system functions for foreign constructions workers in truly prosperous countries like Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
Illegals do bring down housing prices. Even better, they often have social security and Medicare contributions deducted from their paychecks and never collect on them. So they subsidize our retirement and medical care too! If you love your American neighbors, you should love your illegal neighbors too!

The problem with the capitalist system is that it’s completely shortsighted. Contractors were happy for many years until their workers started retiring and there were no trained (or untrained) workers available to enter the labor force except for undocumented immigrants.

That's not a problem with the capitalist system. Companies support vocational education and some sponsor it. It's a problem with many of the politicians and the educators who push young people to college instead of trades. My reading indicates you don't have masses of illegal immigrants taking skilled jobs in construction. It's more like the framing that Sapper mentioned.
Touche in advance Sapper. You already got me on the Scottish chicken tikka masala.

Wrong. It was bad governance; QE, artificially low interest rates and mismanagement of the pandemic that are why home prices are 40-70% higher than they were in 2019. Stop trying to incorporate the populist propaganda that our current administration would like you to believe.

You forgot to mention the past administration’s American Rescue Plan, which ignited inflation in the USA. As to things the president and Congress could control, that would had to have been the biggest factor.

Its an interview... the guy runs his own construction business. He's gotten calls from General Contractors (GCs) asking him to finish jobs because the illegals are hiding. So yeah, no way you can't wrap your head around the context...
Don't ever change, lefties... lol

Got it, exactly what I said. They're hiding from ICE. Otherwise, like before ICE came into town, those projects were on schedule because of immigrant labor. They are only not being finished because immigrants workers are hiding from ICE. How exactly does this show immigrants don't want to work? Maybe they just don't want to be detained or deported.

Guess who those GCs have to hire in the absence of an illegal workforce?
Go on... take a guess.... I'll give you a hint... it starts with "A"
and ends with "muricans"
I don't know where you got the idea I thought illegals don't work... they do... they just undercut AMERICAN WAGES to do that work.
Thanks for playing reading comprehension today!!

You're right, I guessed wrong. I responded to what you quoted and figured that was your point. I didn't guess it was higher wages for Americans, maybe because that's nowhere in your post.
I have to wonder if the GCs would be looking for Americans to complete those projects or if the higher wages required would just keep the developers from starting the projects in the first place. I'm guessing it's more complex than either of those simple solutions.

Understanding the unintended consequences of facilitating a foreign invasion of America is as important as understanding that democrats are trying to replace the American populace with a more malleable set of voters.
If you replace Americans... this won't be America...
