One hundred Senators and 427 Representatives voted to order the DOJ to release the Epstein files. And President Trump signed the bill. One lone Congressman, Louisiana Representative Clay Higgins, voted no.

What was wrong with the bill three months ago is still wrong today. It abandons 250 years of criminal justice procedure in America. This type of broad reveal of criminal investigative files, released to a rabid media, will absolutely result in innocent people being hurt.

What of the collateral damage to people who aren’t accused of any sort of chargeable crime? Give Mr. Higgins credit for pointing out that problem, when others decided the easier vote was a quiet yes.

Yes he is. Are people like Larry Summers who did nothing illegal but will get canceled because of Epstein worse? No they are not.

It’s much too late to do anything about it now. When Trump first promised to release the “Epstein Files” to his base and to the media he started a burning fire that just got out of control when he then turned around and refused to let out the information.

Will some people get hurt over this. Possibly, but it’s hard to feel empathy towards people that hung around with a sexual predator like Epstein especially after his crimes hit the media.
