To confirm, food and a chaotic meltdown of riots over food that engulfed the cities did not end the shutdown... much to the chagrin of some

Huh? You mean far-left Democrats DON'T want the shutdown to persist?

Then why are they trying to shame their fellow Dems (the sane ones) who voted to end the shutdown?

Please make sense for us, Mr. Gristle.

Those are moderate Dems and a moderate Independent. They get shamed everyday by both sides

Clearly Trump did too by not leading and by not trying to get folks to come to the table. Instead he tried to cut SNAP and instigate Devo's food shortage riots contingency plan

Did you tell us that was why he had the NG mobilized?

Leaders don't capitulate to Hamas-style hostage-takers. Leaders don't reward the bad behavior of irresponsible far-left nutjobs who voted over & over again to starve food-stamp recipients and undermine the safety of our air traffic control system.

Gristle seems to think the hostage-takers deserved an invitation "to come to the table". The only thing they actually deserve is our universal scorn & condemnation.

All Trump had to do was come to the table and negotiate. Instead he chose to hurt people until the opposition gave in. That’s not leadership that’s just cruelty.

Bingo. He summed it up perfectly when he wasn't in office, but bungled it when in the job and actively fought against helping people while lashing out at folks for not bending to his whim. Tinpot dictator shit, not leadership to aspire to.

Sad. It's why he's got the two longest shutdowns in U.S. history on his watch. And things don't just go back go normal here.

Yep. The "great deal maker" refused to even begin making a deal.

That's because trump as "deal maker" is a fictional character from the TV. In reality, he can't negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag, and he routinely gets pantsed by actual deal makers, like Putin and Milei.

Trump didn't "choose" to hurt anyone! The shutdown was 100% initiated by Senate Democrats. They knowingly and willfully CHOSE to filibuster a routine Continuing Resolution, thereby stopping the entire federal government in its tracks.

Speaking of cruelty - those wacko far-left nihilist Democrats are more cruel than Cruella de Vil! They watched and applauded while their insane decision to shut everything down triggered cruel & unnecessary suffering for SNAP recipients, flight controllers, the US military, and millions of other civilian federal employees.

This conduct is perfectly analogous to Hamas seizing and holding Hostages in the desperate hope that it will give them negotiating "leverage". Today's Democrats are fine & dandy with that kind of behavior.

Once upon a time, everyone agreed that you don't negotiate with terrorists. Not anymore. Nowadays Democrats ARE the terrorists.

Great job, Cruella Democrats!!

Trump chose not to be a leader and bridge the divides.

By his own standard, he owns his failure.
