Really? The business capital of the country (to a degree, but it used to be the true business capital of the country, especially with banking. No effect on the rest of the country? What about being a "sanctuary city" for illegals? You know, the ones whoc can't read or write but can get a CDL so they can drive all over the country? NY State is already doing this. They issue licenses to "No name given" and send them on their way. I hope it never happens but many families are already suffering, including someone I know personally who was run over by a truck driver (illegal) but he had a "valid" CDL. He will never be the same. His accident was life changing and almost died. He lives in FL, but was in WI at the time, the truck driver was licensed by CA. Didn't even hit the brakes before hitting a bunch of cars.

Nope not even close. he might get some traction on rent control but that's been part of NYC for decades so what more can he get there? and there's nothing Mamdani can do to prevent building owners to simply convert to condo's and sell them at market rate and for NYC that's some of the priciest in the world.
