During the height of the 1960s era fight against organized crime, there were a few mobsters who were deported as "undesirable aliens." A mobster name that comes to mind some fifty years later is Sam Giancana for example.
If Mandani is a citizen of another country it should be possible, after the proper application of due process, to pack him off to his homeland in Uganda.
I surely do not know if he has done anything that would qualify him for that or exactly what due process would be. But I am thinking that if it was possible in the past, it might still be a legal option.

Exactly . . .
This is Election Day Tuesday, of 2025 . . . NYC is already circling the drain after the failed policies last several Democratic mayors and governors. The downfall of this once great city will happen faster than whatever is left of the twelve years AOC gave for the end of the world due to Global Warming.
My family's roots are deep in New York, where I was born into an immigrant Italian blue collar family and this greaves me.

Your roots might be there but your heart isn’t.
The Islamophobia and xenophobia you’ve spouted throughout this thread is all we need to read to know what really matters to you.
The mooslim is gonna win and Trump will spew his usual venom and make all kinds of threats against the city that has repeatedly rejected him and his minions.
Maybe New Yorkers will get a break from the red hats now…

Yes, indeed -- and starved operating budgets would further adversely affect the market by restricting the supply of livable housing units and discouraging investors who otherwise might build new units and/or renovate existing ones.
If rents are capped at levels below market rates, no one seriously believes that any owner would spend more than the bare necessity to meet local codes, and many units would fall into disrepair and become increasingly unattractive to even the most non-discerning tenants.
But there's good news! Such a set of conditions would hardly be bereft of opportunities for everyone. For example, if rent control pushes a larger portion of NYC's housing stock into full-on slum status, pest control services that specialize in rat control will ring up some really boffo sales results!

Bessent was on CNBC this morning, and implied if Mamdani succeeds in making NYC into Caracas on the Hudson, it might just supercharge the Texas Stock Exchange. I'm not sure he's right, but I like the ring of that, "Caracas on the Hudson."

So how many of you believe that the everpresent threat of Trump punishing NYC for choosing the wrong candidate will drive the outcome?
I think the good people of New York City will send a message loud and clear - we'd rather have a red than an orange.

In a similar vein, a friend of mine refers to Mamdami's fantasy as "Havana on the Hudson." (Has a nice ring to it, I think.)
In any case, I'm pretty optimistic about the new Texas Stock Exchange, colloquially known as "Y'all Street." It has some serious big-money backing. (For instance, BlackRock, Citadel, and JP Morgan.)

The center of mass of the nation's wealth management industry appears to be shifting a bit, to say the least.
That can't be good news for NYC CRE investors. Not to mention the tax base Mamdami views in the same way Mongol raiders looked at a thriving city; as something to be sacked and plundered!

No, no, NO. Please pay attention. He is not a MAGA candidate!
All of you "Red Scare" pundits are hysterical. He isn't a Communist. I know it's confusing when Trump says over and over and over and over that he is. But it's a lie. Learn the difference between what Trump says he is and what he actually is. Or just keep making fools of yourselves by repeating Trump lies that prove you don't know what you are talking about either. That's perfectly fine also!
Speaking of Trump foolishness....my absolute FAVORITE thing here is Trump throwing down for that scumbag Andrew Cuomo! That's gotta hurt like hell. Cool! Sooooo much fun!!
Y'all in MAGA really do support a motherfucking moron.
(it's gonna be even MORE fun when Cuomo goes down in flames and secures his place in history as a disgraced has-been)

Texas has a proposition on the ballot to eliminate taxes on transfer of paper assets, such as stocks and bonds to grease the skids for just such a rapid and seamless transfer of funds.

If NYC actually votes to put a Communist in office (despite the fact that, as Waco pointed out, he can't legally do the vast majority of what he's claiming he'll do), the exodus will only increase. Telling that the usual suspects here have NO problem with his claim that he would tax neighborhoods more if they're "too white". That he'd dismantle the NYPD. That he'd fight against ICE (let him try that and fail miserably).

It seems you both did not quote my full context AND failed in choosing the first option I offered.

And instead chose option #2. Sad in its predictability.
Your red-baiting fealty is noted. As is your reflexive denial.
But it don't matter how many significant digits you post, your claim is 100 percent inaccurate.
He is not a Communist, despite Trump's lies.
From his own platform: "He believes government should play a role in reducing economic disparity, but he doesn’t advocate for a communist system where property is collectively owned."
Source: Associated Press.
Meanwhile, anyone who says that they would arrest genocidal maniac Bibi Netanyahu is A-mother-fucking-OKAY!!
