Do at a little research please.
The issue at hand is the enhanced ACA subsidies that were approved during the pandemic. They expire at the end of the year and many people who purchased insurance because costs were lowered will go with a shittier plan or be unable to keep up payments throughout the year or just drop their insurance entirely.
So it’s partially true that some subsidies will be paid for but not all. Costs are likely to double for everyone.
Those subsidies cost the government a measly 35 billion a year. What’s the damn problem?

That’s not what the Democrats are fighting for. Full stop end of story. They want Medicaide for Illegals and that’s not happening. The clean CR is there to sign. More Democrats Senators than Fetterman are ready to sign it.

Republican Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announces “I refuse to let hungry Virginians be used as leverage by congressional Democrats”
He announces WIC and SNAP Food Stamp EBT payments will be issued by the state
He said, ‘I'm declaring a state of emergency due to the Democrat shutdown to protect hungry Virginians in need’
“What he's going to do is he's going to take those funds from the emergency fund of Virginia — so 850,000 Virginias who are on snap can breathe easy today because Glenn Youngkin is taking care of you.”

The reason you think that is because you’re buried deep in the right wing media narrative. Because it’s simply not true.

TXDot let us know when the number reaches $0 ok? Who could have guessed ABC is right wing media according to you.
“Emergency Medicaid for undocumented immigrants made up only 0.4% of total Medicaid spending in 2022, a new study finds.”
“Even in states with the largest undocumented populations, costs remained under 1% of Medicaid budgets, though these states spent roughly 15 times more per person than those with smaller undocumented populations.”
“The authors added that the study has limitations including that 11 states did not report emergency Medicaid spending and that the analysis did not account for other public spending on undocumented immigrants.”

Why bother wasting your time - the RedHats have been fed this bullshit for over 6 yrs. Without this level of stupidity, they wouldnt know how to tie their shoes or turn on the lights. Everything is about illegals and how they are the Nemesis of voters, healthcare, safety, and the threat of erosion of the American way, despite it being proven that immigrants are not only the backbone of how America became great, but the richness that a city like Pittsburgh enjoys. If you don't have a Boogeyman to fear, Trump has no power to make you afraid.
The cult knows not how to think for itself.

This has nothing to do with the actual government shutdown.
Try this article outlining the actual issue.
https://www.reuters.com/legal/govern...ht-2025-09-29/
Explainer: What do Democrats and Republicans want in the US government shutdown fight?
Democrats are pushing for continuing and expanding healthcare subsidies for people who buy insurance through the Affordable Care Act. So far, they have refused to back a government spending bill that does not address the issue.
Their proposal would make permanent enhanced tax breaks that are otherwise due to expire at the end of the year, and make them available to more middle-income households.
If Congress does not act, health insurance costs will increase dramatically for many of the 24 million Americans who get their coverage through the ACA, according to the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation. The impact would be most acute in Republican-controlled states that have not expanded the Medicaid health plan for the poor.
Democrats also want guardrails that would prohibit Trump from unilaterally ignoring their ACA provisions or temporarily withholding funds.
Their proposal also would ensure that immigrants who are in the country legally would continue to qualify for ACA coverage. That would reverse an aspect of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that Republicans passed this summer, which excludes many legal immigrants from coverage starting in 2027.
Those changes would provide health coverage for seven million Americans by 2035 who would otherwise go uninsured, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, but also increase government healthcare spending by $662 billion over 10 years.
EDIT: In my original post I stated the amount as 350 billion over 10 years where the reuters article says 662 billion over 10 years. Why the discrepancy, I couldn’t say.

Alright, anybody here getting Healthcare through the Penny program, as its called in PA?
Yeah, I'll go first, I am.
I fell into the dreaded insurance hole, when my wife retired, so, off I went to see the people at Highmark about getting comparable insurance.
2K per month, nuts.
The people at Highmark TOLD us to go try Penny.
So, I did, a bit humbling as you must apply for Medicaid first, and, my assets are so high, I didn't even bother to reply, just got rejected.
So, being an in year newbie, I ended up paying 1100 per month, half price, but better than nothing.
First full year, I found out that ONE, to qualify, you MUST have an INCOME, and, I eventually had to shift my savings to create cash income, which I do, through CDs, so, I am going to pay into income tax, and take my TAX CREDIT, which I get for PAYING INCOME TAXES.
See how that works, the destitute don't get PENNY, they GET MEDICAID, because they don't WORK, and or, DON'T have an income.
SO, my cost for the first full year of PENNY, 50 bucks a month, and it has remained that for the second.
Now, I've already seen the numbers of what my 50 buck payment is going to be, and in my county, its going to be about 150 bucks for a 2200 dollar per month, ZERO DEDUCTIBLE Highmark Plan.
Sounds like a FUCKING DEAL TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO, by your logic, I should make you all pay more, so I can eat 3 pounds of Lobster extra per month?
FUCK NO!
Its a goddamn gift as it is now, I am happy to qualify for it, but in part, its payback for the full retirement at 60 I agreed to when starting to pay income taxes.
So, yes, I am DIRECTLY affected by this, which is going to cost me thousands of dollars, but its still saving me far more.
Gift horse, you know.

Dig in deeper and do the hw TX told you to do. Try looking up the % of reimbursements and it should become clear he's addressing a mountain and you're focused on an anthill

Surface level talking points lacking context and $ values. We had this discussion at the start of the shutdown. Some good reading if you want a link.

You post MSM propaganda. Hence your TDS. If you think the Gooberment under Joey bribes capped Illegals at 6% I have some farmland in the Sahara Desert to sell you.
