Regardless of VPN usage all browser traffic on chrome since 2021 has defaulted to HTTPS. This means all data between you and whatever website you were using is encrypted by default, so unless you the site you were using didn't support HTTPS or the site itself was compromised you shouldn't have had your identity stolen.
