It's accusations by the current administration- so there's that. The fact that they have been using the DOJ and all its resources to stir shit and create a sense of distrust; If the company is found liable for the claims in the Philippines- then I'd consider believing it, but the claims of improper actions in PA are not only a facade, but likely based in fantasyland.

Well the charges filed are for the Philippines,home of clever plunderers like the Marcos family etc., so when charges land here- that's when I'd look at this. I'd imagine no company is unsusceptible to hacking 100%, and without going into details to derail the thread- most seem to be a coordination between multiple people on the "inside" vs. some hocus pocus on the outside of the voting systems. When we see the charges here- I'll be concerned. I still remember Emelda and her fine collection of shoes!!- her lavish lifestyle and accumulation of wealth alongside her husband, who ruled as an authoritarian leader- and later thrown out for grifting off the government.

For the life of me- I don't know how a family (insert name here) can be so corrupt, voted out, and then be voted back into power by either the dumbest electorate or by bribery, but it sure does sound familiar!

In a lot of governments if you want the government contract, for just about anything, a gift for the official is required. Is anyone really surprised that a multinational company like Smartmatic thought a bribe to get a contract was acceptable.

Which is why the FCPA exists. Which, ironically, Trump paused enforcement on while decrying how much business we lose because we prohibit bribery.
