government shuts down
Why is this not surprising ?
When was the last time ? You guessed it...the 1st Trump administration.
Trump is so belligerent and full of himself. Wonder what his rant will be on Truth Social...and maybe some name calling.

And now we will find out who is "essential" and who is not.
I survived the Gingrich shut down in the 1990s because I worked in a VA hospital doing direct patient care. But there were whole wings of dark hallways and locked office doors.

Check the facts.
Look who all voted NO against funding to keep the government open

Are we going to have to keep paying taxes to the IRS during this "shutdown"? Yes. Yes we will. Therefore, the government is not "shut down".
Planes are still flying (FAA), Amtrack is still running, You still need a background check to buy certain things (ATF), people are still being reunited with their families in foreign countries (ICE),
It is not possible to "shut down" the US government. Grow up.

It's my understanding that the shut down is a direct result of the democrats filibustering, preventing a vote by the republicans, and requiring more votes than the republicans can muster. I'm very much not the best on politics and the way things go, but that's my reading. Not the "stand and speak" for days kind, the actively plug everything up with procedural garbage kind.
I'm all for a shutdown, no back pay deal. Government is bloated and could use a cleansing. But i don't think this is Trumps doing. Or am I wrong?

Right now Democrats and Republicans are fighting about how those dollars get split up. Go figure, both Democrat and Republicans are failing We The People.

"Leadership: Whatever happens, you're responsible. If it doesn't happen, you're responsible."
Sounds like according to whoever said this, it's the leader's fault. Last I checked, Trump's the leader.
No idea who said it though. I bet they were full of shit though.

Also, congressman and senators continue to get paid (174K/year), and their gold-plated healthcare premiums continue to be be subsidized at a 75% rate by the taxpayers.

It would be nice to have it noted by people of each party:
1. How is it their party are failing the people.
2. How is it the other party is failing the people.

Well now. If true, I guess it follows the same maggie logic of freedom of speech: freedom for only us. Not anyone else.

... "Shut it Down - Shut it Down - the Dems are gonna Shut it Down!"
... Then, a vote come Tuesday to open back up! ...
... The Dems won't be able to take the heat from their-own party.

... People are AGAINST the shutdown... You must have missed that.
And seeing-as near 65% of the country wants the Illegals
to be DEPORTED - do you really believe that the voters
want Illegals getting government health care?? ...
