Speaking of Rooney’s tight-ass way of doing things, the Vikings flew out first class where each player had their own pods, the Steelers flew coach where a bunch of extremely large men squeezed into their seats.
Why should we care?….in the NFL, attracting good talent is obviously important, if the money is pretty even, why would any free agent want to come here?
Theres a reason Steelers ownership received an F grade by players in the recent players poll.

Another typical Tomlin win! Players played their asses off for him and we win despite some head scratching decisions. Thought O-line looked decent and our defense…particularly linebackers, played a much more aggressively.

... 4th Down and just ONE (1) yard to go - and just 40 yards from a TD
to put the game away - let's just punt-away the ball next time and
give the other side a chance to come back and win the game...

Boz could’ve crushed that 55 yarder to ice the game imo, but it’s a tough call that any decision could’ve gone sideways. I think the punt was the right thing to do, missing the first or the field goal puts the Vikings in a position where they only need 30 yards to be in position to tie the game.

Actually the 40 yards away from a TD part was irrelevant. They would have iced the game with just the 1 yard for the first down. It was not an easy call IMO but I’m not sure I would have just given the ball back to Minnesota there, plus punting only gained them 20 yards of field position (what the fuck was up with Waitmann on that punt - it landed almost out of the end zone; not even close to pinning them deep). The way they were running the ball, I think I’d take my chances on gaining one yard offensively vs stopping them defensively to seal the win. It worked out in the end, but that doesn’t make it the right decision

That would not have iced tha game though, which is why I wouldn’t even have considered the long FG. They were up 3. A FG puts them up 6 and gives Min the ball back with a bit over a minute left, probably around their own 30. That’s a bit tougher of a winning drive than needing a FG to tie and starting at the 20, but the game would not have been iced by a FG. Gaining that 1 yard, though, on 4th down certainly would have iced it. If you’re not “living in your fears” as Tomlin likes to say, you go for it, and likely you do ice it away.

True that. I should’ve said much more difficult for the Vikings, needing to find the endzone instead of the 30-35 for a good shot at a FG.

I didn’t agree with the punt but I’m still really scratching my head over the run play call on 4th and goal at the 3 1/2 yard line. It’s almost like Tomlin thought the run would use up more clock.
Unfortunately for Tomlin, the clock stops on change of possessions.

who would have thought that the ravens would be 1-4 (and it isnt because jackson got hurt)
who would have thought the steelers and the ravens would have two of the worst defenses in the nfl?
what was considered the toughest division in the nfl is one of the worst

Tomlin has the record for the most 1score wins. Only because he turns blowouts into close games.

Because of his decisions, blowouts become close games. Like the Vikings game.

I thought yesterday’s win was the most complete game thus far. O-lines best game by far!! Didn’t give up a sack, Myles Garrett was invisible and the defense was flying around.
Omar Khan has built more depth into this team than we have had in years.
