If I were a billionaire I damn sure wouldn't donate to Democrats. Billionaires pay much, much more than their fair share of taxes and have to continually listen to Democrats who say they don't. The progressive wing of the party would make it pretty damn hard to ever become and stay a billionaire. Sanders wants to tax billionaires up to 8% of their wealth ANNUALLY. Kamala Harris wants an annual 25% mark to market capital gains tax on everything the billionaire owns. The compliance burden associated with either of those taxes would be immense. If either were imposed on me, I'd absolutely leave the country rather than spend every waking hour working on reporting taxes. Thank goodness I'm not a billionaire!
There's one way the Republican Party hasn't changed. It encourages people to build businesses, provide lots of jobs, and become wealthy in the process. You can't say the same thing about many Democrats. If the left wing of the Democratic Party were in charge, we just might not have Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Tesla, SpaceX, Dell, Walmart, etc. And we'd all be poorer for it. Like the French.
