"We're trying to get it back," Trump said. "We're trying to get it back because they need things from us."

"We want that base back, but one of the reasons we want the base is, as you know, it's an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons," Trump added.

I understand the geographical importance of the area but we’ll run into the same problem we had previously. Supporting a military presence in a region bordering Iran and Pakistan with absolutely zero allies in the region that would support us without a regular supply of dollars flowing into someone’s pocket.

A total boondoggle in my opinion.

Default Recalling my recollections...

As I recall; Russia got their buttocks spanked in Afaghani-ville, even worse than O'Biden. Notwithstanding, there are three little, hardly worth mentioning even, words to keep in mind - Rare Earth Minerals.

No he didn't, we got out. Trump's withdrawal would have been way worse, if TACO did it at all.

We paid Pakistan billions of dollars in aid both in military and civilian support. All the while elements of the Pakistani military was hiding and supporting the taliban and extremist moslems when we were in Afghanistan.

All so we could utilize their airspace to support our people in country.

Going back to an arrangement with a country like Pakistan, which has people in its military and government which can not be trusted, is a very very bad idea.

it was frustrating to read about that affair.

pakis act like they own Afghanistan considering they have a large unrestive pashtun community living in north pakis.

Asked all the righties n maggies here how such was suppose to be done. They were as quiet as a public person whose name was on the Epstein Files. All they could do was rage about the $$$$ going over there. He had the balls to pull the bandage off that scab. Than the maggies don't whisper a peep about donny cutting out the goverment out of talks and dealing directly with the terrorist. Not one word from the maggies. Except to bitch at all the material left. Can they state one war where nothing was left behind? And if they are so hot on the fiscal loss of such, why aren't they demanding putin pay us what they owe for the lend-lease?

Maggies. Just another way of saying hypocrite.

trump is not that kind of guy to have biden-like withdrawal take place on his watch.

NO. Its just not biden. its everyone involved in this.

biden - for fucking up the withdrawal.

trump - for even talking to the Taliban (a terrorist organization that also supported al qiuda) about withdrawal conditions. you do know they were sending suicide bombers against civilians.

obama & bush43
- 1. for turning the war as shoot em up game which led to several un-necessary civilian deaths - casual indifference is not a nice thing to have.

- 2. for allowing the state dept to dictate social policies in afghanistan like putting female judges in courts

you don't run policies like that in afghanistan where the muslim population is living in the 13th century and many are illiterate. they are gonna go with their educated mullahs & clerics on what is right & proper. state dept. polices ran contrary to their beliefs, so many males started joining the Taliban instead of staying home.

as a consequence, all of the females are removed from power, dis-empowered and oppressed with misogyny.

They also never mention the 5000 taliban released from prison as part of the deal. Maybe they shoulda been released after a successful withdrawal. I think a couple of the released were part of the bombing.
