No, not really. They never imagined it would be used to confer a private right of ownership. Only a collective right through the militia. I think you’re not giving them enough credit. An incredibly well educated a bright group, actually.

I'm not here to debate amendments or the 2nd amendment specifically. I'm not an advocate of open carry or having access to them like a cookie in a shop either but this just isn't about that. This is clearly about a young guy who was in his prime being shut down for his views and support to the a particular group.

Since when did we start to shut down people for their beliefs and views? I don't know how this can be interpreted any other way.

I didn’t always agree with some of the things that he said, but I did like the fact that he was not afraid to debate anyone. It’s really sad that we live in a country where because someone doesn’t agree with you, they use words like divisive and hate speech as an excuse to unalive you, that’s chicken shit to me. Since the beginning of civilization. People have been killing people over their beliefs since the beginning of civilization. Same as they killed people over their skin color, the group they belong to, etc. this is nothing new, I don’t know why everyone’s acting surprised. Also, him being a husband and a father does not make him a good man. Plenty of men with a wife and children do and say terrible things. IMO, he was one of them. Shit, a lot of the men on this board are barebacking prostitutes without their wife’s knowledge and bringing them God knows what home. 😂

He wasn't a good debater though. He cherry picks his arguments, interrupts and plays to emotion.

It's like talking to a charismatic drunk at a bar who distorts facts and appeals to other drunks. These people will also argue all day and aren't afraid to debate others with the "prove it bro" attitude.

I tried listening to the guy with an open mind. He's good at politely stirring shit and playing to emotions on sensitive topics. Doesn't mean he deserves to go out JFK style though.

Have to agree with this. Having a family doesn't make a person saint. Though, Yes, its a loss for his children, but then so many parents have lost their children in school shootings. I would say, Prayers and Sympathies, next shooting please.....I know its cold, but to me its just another shooting in America. Either we have too many guns or too many sick people or too many of both in tight grip of each other. Either way its a failure of society.

Like everywhere else, people have sucked up and taken this in a completely different context, I'm no way supporting his views or saying he was a saint among demons. But the never physically hurt anyone or tried to hurt, was always up for a debate (shitty or not) and doesn't deserved to be executed like that. He had a lot of problematic opinions but this will only radicalized folks even more
