Its almost like you're saying there is only one political party that thinks burning our National flag is appropriate... who would that be?

Hey... what happens if I do a burn out on a gay rainbow crosswalk? or burn a gay flag? Any examples of people being prosecuted for that?

If you want to burn a gay pride flag feel free to do so. I just don’t think that federal government should be allowed to specifically target groups based solely on that criteria.

You didn't answer the question... what group burns US flags that you think is being targeted?

And you do know that people have been arrested for and jailed for burning ghey flags right?

Right?

Right?

How about Sovereign Citizens. Or any nutjob organization that protests against the US. Could even be an anti-war group. That doesn't mean that they should be targeted because of it.

You will have to let me know which people got jailed for burning pride flags and if they were targeted because of it. Because I think you're full of it on that particular point.

Why are you being a troll on this issue. Do you support the targeting of political groups because you think that they are un-American?

December 19, 2019 - Adolfo Martinez, 30 got 16 years for it. Though some of that was due to being a generally repeating A-hole.

From the pole dancer at Snopes:
Quote:
...Several news articles failed to mention that Martinez' sentence would not have been nearly so long if he had not already been convicted of two previous felonies and treated as an "habitual offender," in keeping with Iowa state law. In that circumstance, his criminal history tripled the maximum available sentence for arson from five years to 15 years...
Notice how they charged him for arson, instead of free speeching it up in their grill. Similar, but reverse, of how they cook the books on crime stats in some notoriously chite-hole cities.

Well this is news to me. I didn’t think that there were that many drunk homophobes out there. Google AI has a list of five different entries from 2019 to 2024. Regardless that doesn’t invalidate my point. The government shouldn’t be targeting anyone or any group because they disagree with their views.

Peterborough, Ontario (2024): In July 2024, a man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment, mischief, and theft after allegedly stealing and burning a pride flag and shouting homophobic slurs. Police classified the incident as a hate crime.

Weston-super-Mare, UK (2024): A man was arrested in June 2024 on suspicion of criminal damage after a pride flag was torn down and burned outside the town council's office.

Peoria, Illinois (2024): A trio of teenagers was arrested and charged with a preliminary hate crime in June 2024 after they were found burning a pride flag in the street.

New York City (2023): Angelina Cando was arrested and charged with arson, criminal mischief, and reckless endangerment after burning a pride flag in the SoHo neighborhood. All charges were categorized as hate crimes.

Iowa (2019): A man was sentenced to 16 years in prison after burning a pride flag outside a church. He was the first person in the county's history to be convicted of a hate crime.

I would think a drunk homophobe would be more likely to fall for their wiles, as opposed to a sober homophobe. But I would defer to your experience there.

As to the rest of your post; seems you are validating my point regarding how they Trump-up charges from free speech to nefarious intent and cooked up charges, which seems a bit evil in intent.

Salty said foreign nationals. they have no constitutional rights in the US. a travel or student visa is not a grant of constitutional rights. they have law enforcement protection if needed. they can't be refused medical attention.

they can be deported if they come to the US to protest and that includes burning the flag.

[QUOTE=texassapper;1063873449]My ancestry dates back 11 generations to 1658, 30 years after the founding of the colony. My 10x Grandfather came as an indentured servant to the Massachusetts colony. He gained his freedom in 1672 and died in 1678. So... yeah 14 years a slave...lol.

1650 for me, and just a little south of your ancestor. He was also an "indentured servant" for 10 years, freed in late 1659. I'm not sure about the 1812, but likewise, family blood shed in virtually (if not actually) every conflict...now I need to go check on the 1812 lol. But, as much as I dislike the idea of burning the American flag, every one of those that fought and lived or died for this country did so for freedom. And that includes speech and expression of disagreement with the government's actions.

I'm pretty sure they would all be rolling over in their grave with a fucking fat draft dodger saying "I'm the President, I can do ANYTHING I want". In fact, I think that's exactly what my ancestors that fought in the Revolutionary war did.

Now, as for the 2nd amendment, I'm pro on it. But it's delusional to think it's what protects us from the government. That ship sailed decades ago. When the farmers and the military had the same guns, sure...but how many of your neighbors have tanks, or can fly fighter jets they have in their backyard? And that all disregards the fact that they could just take you out with a drone you never even know was there.

That’s what this executive order is designed to do. Suppress the political activity of those whom he decides is objectionable by framing it as un-American.

I’m sorry but I can’t support that.
I don't support it. But it's not the end of free speech in America. If you want to burn a flag, just stay away from federal property. Do it on city or state property. Or like Salty said, do it in your backyard and invite your friends. I personally prefer bonfires.

There is an argument that flag burning is un-American. I wouldn't burn one, any more than I'd dress up in a white robe and burn a cross.

You are right. It’s not the end of free speech in America. I just think that it’s wrong to target groups in this way. Unless you can find a link to using flag burning and other forms of crime then you should not consider it when looking into criminal activity.

LOL... you know tanks and planes require fuel shipments. THose are soft skin vehicles. AR-15s would be more than sufficient to prevent the Federal Armed Forces from occupying areas of the US were there a conflict.

If you doubt me... explain why Astan is under Taliban control.

Meaningless. Dipshit's EO doesn't create a law. It's all stupid shit for show.

Personally, I don't give a fuck if someone burns a flag, pisses on a bible or wipes their dick on a copy of the constitution. I'm always amused at how MAGA fucktards make so many versions of the flag, wear it on all sorts of clothing get so pissy when someone else disrespects it.

These "persecuted" mouth breathers are simply LARPing patriots. Fuck them.

At least you didn’t say….”do away with the Constitution”.
And I agree. The first Amendment, like all of our a Bill of Rights, is the closest thing a secular government can have to being a sacred document.

The document it’s self is just a piece of paper. Burn it, piss on it, use it for toilet paper. The truths it represents still stand tall as the supreme law of the land.
