DEI is not about giving everyone equal opportunity. If it did and the results didn't change, it would be shown to be a failure. That is why when it is implemented, they make sure that their target demographic has some sort of advantage.
See the Harvard admissions case or the FAA hiring process (changed thanks to Trump) for air traffic controllers.
I'm all for everyone having a fair chance, but any rule favoring any particular demographic is wrong and discrimination.

Are the performance metrics biased, Iceman?
Is the pool of qualified talent representative of baseline demographics?
You'll want to address that before arbitrarily jumping from the 30% you set to the 50%. There's other factors but you'll want to tackle those first.
Do you have examples where you feel DEI cam be used to find large pools of exceptional white athletes?

You do realize why DEI was deemed necessary in the first place, right? Because every rule favored one particular demographic for centuries until it was.
A demographic that had been given every benefit of every doubt for far too long. It was never based on merit.

Some folks don't see privilege as anything. My Pap had it, my dad had it, and now I have it. F- these immigrants and ppl who aren't exactly like me- speak additional languages or a different skin tone. There is almost NO diversity in the entire current administration. I'll leave this here:
This is a picture of the cabinet on health.

Can you spot who is missing in the equation and the meeting?
If you're not a rich white man- you better be a 5x rich white woman to be on the Trump team. NONE of us would be even invited to this party by dollars alone- Let alone anything related to DEI or skin color.
Trumps only inclusion is for women that he covets and would like to see naked- (which is how i choose my hookers, but not my employees or workers).
The guy is so completely inept about everything - I wish I could point to a single thing he's done that is good and for the right reasons.

You just proved my point. For DEI to work you need to "massage" the requirements.

Is that a reason to put your thumb on the scale? We have equal opportunity laws, why do we need DEI?

And you just proved mine by taking the Robert Krafty bait and focusing massaging to the desired outcome instead of looking at the process of increasing reptesentation by hsving diverse hiring pools.
Those equal opportunity laws ARE DEI. So are job fairs for veterans. ERG's. Wheel chair ramps. All manners of accessibility. Closed-captions during Zoom calls. And that's just surface level stuff.
But stay focused on white guys in the NBA. It's a winning argument

representation or racism in hiring? DEI is racism.
forget the NBA or NFL.
how about that 93% WHITE hockey league? the NHL. you want your Pens to be diverse or winners? no that's not a trick question.
by your logic each NHL team should be 13% black. for diversity and racism.

You have a very narrow, misguided understanding of DEI, Waco. Is it racist to have nursing room for mothers so they can pump breast milk? That's DEI.
Is it racist to increase representation of minorities in a candidate pool so that the cream can rise to the top? Only if you're being goofy with it.
My logic didn't touch on specific percentages for the NHL. No analysis was done at all on feeder pools, or the funnels. You're just going into the lab betwixt your cheeks for "gotcha" examples without thinking them through. Why don't you skip it and go to NASCAR? Or Formula-1? Or Tennis? Or Golf?
I know it's rough that DEI hasn't died, but it will be ok.

How TF is a breast milk pumping room DEI? I don’t think it’s Waco that’s confused here, certainly not about what many think is blatant racism.

It's an inclusion based accommodation, J, that falls under the I in DEI.
The fact that it flabbergasts you proves the point. You're not even clear on what DEI is or does except that you feel it's racist. And that's because all you see is race-based Affirmative Action.
It's also support for marginalized groups like pregnant employees or those who recently gave birth. Things like workplace accommodations, intentionally built leave policies so that both parents get flexible leaves and return-to-work options.

So do handicapped toilets, who cares. You’re completely missing the point. Nobody has an issue with ramps, wide shitters and grab bars in the shower. Discrimination based on skin color and who you like to fuck is what’s at issue.

No, I'm just not biting on the race-baiting while pointing out that there's more to DEI... again, because you missed it earlier. Goes all the way back to Page 1
Those might be YOUR issues, but DEI is much more than that kind of myopic view
Btw, yes... handicapped stalls are a DEI workplace accommodation

Yep. MAGA thinks it only has a racial component. And that makes them BIG MAD, which is pretty telling in its own right. DEI also helps veterans, women, handicapped folks... most of DEI has nothing to do with race.
