Nope. Congress founded the Continental Army on June 14, 1775 and appointed George Washington as its Commander in Chief on June 15, 1775.

That's why the parade was set for last Saturday. Preparations started long before Trump was elected.

We will celebrate 250 years of Independence on July 4, 2026 - a little over a year from now.

The preparations were originally slated for the celebrations to be held all over the country. Mr. Ego vetoed all of those preparations so he could have a Prade in DC on his birthday. Why share it with the rest of the country, when you can bolster your own ego?

Kudos to you! No shame, I've said "I stand corrected" on this board multiple times. Too bad some posters are too insecure to admit error - ever, ever, ever. When that happens, I just keep pounding away with the facts. If they want me to prolong their embarrassment and humiliation, that's on them.

It's strikes me as odd that you weren't aware of the US Army's DOB. Didn't any of your news sources mention it? Did they hide that simple fact because it takes away from their Egomaniacal Dictator narrative? In addition to being Trump's birthday, June 14 was also Flag Day. So I would call it a TRIFECTA. Three reasons to be festive. Don't rain on my parade!

A. It's for a fucking moron, and he's made sure to alienate most of the people who would go if it was STRICTLY for the celebration of the ARMY or armed services folks- which I support.

B. It was on Fathers' day weekend; Dads don't want to go stand in a parade on "their day".

C. it's for a guy who is so down in the polls that it's hard to believe he's still in office - and that congress hasn't started a no confidence bill and articles of impeachment, but then again, they deferred to the POTUS on the most important things that congress does...OVERSIGHT.
