After U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ruled against the Trump administration, the president’s supporters responded with vitriol aimed not only at him, but also at his family.

Boasberg and McConnell are among at least 11 federal judges whose families have faced threats of violence or harassment after they ruled against the new Trump administration, a Reuters investigation found.

While I don't condone threats of death to anyone, I also do not think that they are comparable to people setting fires.

From what I have seen, there have been far more incidences of violence from the left than the right.

I believe that people’s perception of political violence is highly influenced by the type of media that they take in.

Unless you are a person that deals directly with violence on a regular basis (like a police officer or a social worker) then the statement “From what I have seen” is a reflection of the media that we view rather than any kind of direct evidence.

Both sides tend to report violence that pushes their narrative rather than the actual messy unbiased truth.

It’s my opinion that the belief that liberals are more likely to be violent is strictly a result of a massive propaganda campaign by the right wing media, i.e. Fox News, to increase their ratings and to keep their viewership high.

Like it or not violence sells and the media pushes their version of it not to inform but rather to keep viewers glued to their screens.

This entire thread is nothing more than an extension of that false narrative.

Protests where people were arrested, sure. Was anyone injured? Are these protesters affiliated with the hundreds of millions of liberals throughout the country?

But reading the articles reporting these events it makes it seem like the violence was worse than it actually was and it suggests that this is a widespread liberal movement when it really isn’t.

This feeds into the narrative that the Right is pushing which feeds viewer bias and keeps people glued to their screens.
