Exactly, i'd rather support the local farmers than the giant supermarkets anyway. If the small time farmer can sell eggs at low cost to feed his family why can't the larger shops?

Supporting local farmers is great. Everyone who can do it, should. A lot of people don't have access to that. Hence, supermarkets.

Eggs are still way more expensive now than they were a year ago. Indisputable fact.

just bought a dozen at big bird, they were 5.99 for large and 6.99 for extra large. Not all that long ago- say 18 months or so you could get Delallos 2 doz for 5.00 Jumbos in store. Bird flu and Oil supply seem to have non elasticity on the increasing prices. Up up and away!!!

3.49 a dozen everywhere locally, J Eagle is constantly the highest.

Can't believe you poor sods are still bitching.

I'll go to the foodbank and get you food if it's that bad.

In fact our firehall may have leftover civilian MREs by the case, leftover from power outage this week.

I can ask them to donate them to you.

Just give me a name and address.

Devo, quit asking for personal info. Eggs aren't 3.49 around most of town, but I do appreciate the offer.

Mebbe donate more money to your local food bank or buy eggs for the fine folks in Charleroi. Might lift your spirits.

Until they're back down to what they were when JV started whining, this will continue

Yep. JV can suck it. The eggs I buy are up 30 cents from two weeks ago, by the way. Prices aren't coming down.

No, I don't see the folks in Sharlaroi whining about egg prices, like you two are constantly doing.

Its like an egg circle Jerk with you two being the only players, its pathetic, and I for one, wouldn't be on a forum celebrating the difficulties I have paying for food.

During the depression, my Gram would feed hobos for work around the homestead, even though they were poor, my Grandfather had a good mill job and they helped others.

My dad still talks about how many eggs they used to eat every day, becauce of course, they raised their own FUCKING CHICKENS and didn't publicly bitch about how bad THEY had it, because they had pride, and resilience.

Keep whining, its shows your real you.

Honestly, have you ever killed an animal for food, and I don't mean stabbing a lobster through the brain to kill it before cooking it.

Have you ever owned chickens, and raised them?

Then cut the heads off, defeathered and cooked them?

Watched a living deer, and then trailed it until you put a bullet through its body, then gut, remove, skin, debone, cut, process and can?

I have.

Ultimately I am not DEPENDENT upon the cost of eggs to survive, and I find it pathetic, in this day and age, males who whine about the basics in life when the quality of living we have is the best in the world, and you aren't DOING A FUCKING THING to make the world better other than BITCH on a daily basis about it.

I have a 72 year old neigbor who raises chickens, he occasionally brings my parents a dozen.

He alone has done more than 18 pages of childhood ranting ever has.

Unless you're there asking them, the rest don't matter. This is about the still far too high price of eggs, not our respective hunting and gathering skills or who's the better field butcher (me, by a country mile)

Even the Post recognizes that something is amiss with price of eggs. Claim price gouging while a major producer is being subsidized with our tax dollars. Worthy of conversation.

Glassport is cracking down on how.many chickens people can have as they continue to flock to alternative egg sources than the grocery store.
