The confidence rating for Democratic leadership in Congress stands at 25% in a Gallup poll conducted April 1-14 and released on Thursday. That's nine points below the previous low of 34%, which was recorded in 2023.

The Democrat party is a complete mess now. The poll is probably accurate. The Republican party will soon be the same cluster fuck after mid-term elections when we are in a recession. It is what it is and will be.

I only worry about what I can control, and I have no control over our current political shit show. Times like this makes me glad that I am affiliated with neither party. If I was a Democrat, I think I would be feeling pretty confused and frustrated about the state of the party and rightfully so IMO.

The bottom line to me though is I don't understand how anybody of either party could be happy with their party right now unless they are retarded and they want the economy to crash.

Yet 12,000 folks in Red State Idaho showed up to hear their "Stop Oligarchy" message. There are republicans (some on this site) who not too happy with Trump playing with the tarriffs. The real test for them is can they get a good turnout in a battleground state like Michigan, Wisconsin or Penn. These are three states where a presidential election can be won. Just need those three plus the 226 electoral college votes that Kamala Harris got in the 2024 election.

A shot to near term worryh for me is that the Democrstic partywill find its bottom too soon.

My near term to lifetime worry is that our economy will find no bottom at all.

I am not a sophisticated economist; my head just doesn't work that way and my 401(k) shows that. But today I am seeing Gold at three times the value of Platinum. Is that historically "normal"? I always thought of aPlatinum as holding a premium over Gold. Wht is up with that, nd does it have any significnce in the grander cheme of things?
