Horseshit. Unless you’re a 35Q or something along those lines there’s no in-depth comsec training. I did army avionics for better than 20 years, you rely on the equipment manufacturers to get it right. Nobody even understands how the encryption works, let alone having the skills or equipment to verify that it does. Pilots could be communicating on equipment no more secure than a Sears Roadtalker and not a single guy, including the pilot, would know.
