Ms. Crockett graduated top 5% from UH Law. She could have picked the Big Law firm of her choice upon graduation. Instead, she went into public service as a public defender.
maybe do your homework next time. Jasmine always did..

... And then jumped right into politics. ... How nice.

Still in "public service" though...
... On tax-payer dime...

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're talking about there.
Public service JOBS are JOBS. People go to WORK. Of course they're on the taxpayer's dime. Just like all essential services. Didn't they teach you that in high school civics in ... ahem, Australia? (lol)
Are you insinuating that something's wrong with people going into public service? Or that maybe she's not ambitious enough to go into the private sector?
So many unanswered questions raised by your flippant aside, Salty. But you knew that.
Do you want all public service to dissappea ... of course you do!

speaking of homework ... not finding any mention of being in the top 5% of her class .. in a featured article on her .. by the UH School of Law...
funny Jasmine story. i was at an awards ceremony with another 3L. (if i recall correctly, they were giving me a participation trophy..) one of the award sets they were giving out was something called the am jur awards for the 1Ls. for each first year class, the am jur award is given out to the student attaining the highest score for that course.
when it got to the 1L am jur awards, it got kind of funny. for Torts, the am jur award goes to Jasmine Crockett. no biggee.
then, for Property, the am jur award goes to... Jasmine Crockett. ok impressive.
for Contracts, the am jur award goes to....Jasmine Crockett. me and the other 3L were like, "ok, who the hell is this chick.."
graduating top 5% is not something you'll see on a website. more like on a cv or resume. but people in the know, know..

Impressive indeed.
So when did she decide to become a rude, foul mouthed poverty pimp?
Politics are a joke now. If you are not saying something stupid and outlandish, you don't make headlines and you're not trending. I don't take any of these "look at me" fools remotely seriously on either side and I wish nobody else would either so they would shut up and chill with their silly ass rhetoric and theatrics.
I know ghetto folks. Hell, I still have some close childhood friends who I grew up hooping with who were straight up ghetto thugs then and even bigger thugs now that they have been institutionalized so many times on and off all of these years later... anyway, trust me, that lady hardly fits the bill and is just playing the "keeping it real" act/game at her convenience for her constituents.
She's just playing the same game that many of those attention whore politicians play. It's quite the low hanging fruit game IMO, but whatever, I am not in politics.
For the vast majority of people having a job means creating something or providing a service that people will pay for. Jobs are self generating. The company makes money off your labor, you get paid, the company grows and hires more people. Public service produces little. It takes from the workers to pay people to do something. Those jobs are.not self actualizing.
