My family, on both sides, entered the country legally, all of them between 1900 and 1935. All were "voted" as well. This is as documented by by their public records from Ellis Island.

Why can't the majority of migrants who have come here in the last five or beam ten years say thy entered legally or even that they were vetted say that?

The pathway to citizenship or asylum, begins at a US Consulate or Embassy in a foreign country, not as one enters at at our borders.

For the record, Ellis Island is a museum. It ceased to be a port of entry decades ago. Have you been in a coma?
