I still couldn't do it.
When I was doing this full-time throughout college the flexible couldn't be beat.
Being able to create my own hours & work for an hour here & an hour there is an amazing thing. Even until this day I don't take it for granted.

totally different industry.
For the Calif fast food payrate...
I know a a handful of franchise operators in southern Calif, and...
2 have closed most of their oldest and/or under performing stores, keeping just a few that they personally manage, and sold the closed store real estate. Remaining staff are almost entirely family.
2 others sold their Calif houses, purchased primary houses elsewhere, replaced their vehicles, then filed for bankruptcy, and will let the store real estate go to the banks, as they are now retired.
All told, with just these 4, close to two hundred staff went into unemployment.

Heck I live in Ca and where I live it is not cheap and I would not do it for 20$hr...Like having my own rules and work when I want too!
