We were absolutely never energy independent. Shutting down a pipeline that wouldn't be completed until 2025??? Nothing ever flowed through the XL.
The Cares act was signed by Trump, not Biden. Due to the massively failed Trump response to Covid benefits had to be extended.

What’s Biden’s excuse then, since more have died on his watch, even when handed multiple vaccines and therapeutics? Hell, what’s every other world leaders excuse? Is people dying in their countries Trump’s fault too?
Fact of the matter is that it doesn’t/didn’t matter who is/was running a country, they’re not going to stop a virus. According to the study Johns Hopkins just put out, every government on earth (save Sweden maybe) fucked up, and their draconian measures achieved exactly nothing, except destroying the world economy.
Quit relying on government to solve your problems. They can’t, and wouldn’t if they could, and don’t particularly give AF if you live or die unless it makes themselves look good or the other guy look bad.

countries like Sweden that had few deaths didn't fuck up. I think sweden was the only country to leave their their citizens alone.

When you become a net exporter of energy, meaning you have more than enough for your own needs, you are by definition, energy independent.
