You can try to take away or prevent the mental cases from having guns..it won't work..I've read 26% of americans have mental issues..any criminal can get their hands on a gun in this country,there are nearly 400 million of them in the US.
The argument that only criminals would have guns doesn't work..look at Australia.
When Australia said they were going to outlaw guns I didn't think they would do it.The country was originally colonized by outlaws.They did it and it worked.As for the "I've got rights" crowd well it would take a constitutional amendment.
There is absolutely no other way fix the problem,it's just going to get worse.It will be a very long time before this country figures this out.
Personally I think they should allow them in Alaska and whoever thought it was so important to them they would have an option

I have a pistol permit and many guns that I enjoy shooting but I would give them up to solve the problem
