If it is making comparisons based on equivalency, yes. The problem with "whataboutism", as 1blackman1defined it, is if one brings up a matter completely different than the original matter. If one is "comparing" to equal matters like the fact that one political party did something exactly like the other political party, that is not "whataboutism", it is about hypocrisy.
A better example ( than 1blackman1 gave ) would be trying equate one bad act, with another bad act that had nothing to do with each other following the idiom that two wrongs don't make a right.
However, when comparing a legal act by one party to a legal act of another party, that is not "whaboutism". It is however an inconvenience to the party that doesn't want to admit that both parties did the same thing. When one is accusing one side of doing something wrong, it is very hard for that person to then admit that their side did the same thing therefore diminishing their argument that only the other side had done something wrong because if one acknowledges the truth, there is no argument to be made, no fault to find and the whole purpose of the discussion, was to find fault.

To be clear it’s 3000 per year paid out in monthly payments of 300 or a little less.

$150,000 for couples filing jointly. But at least they're making progress from last week on the $1400 stimulus checks. Now the cutoff proposed by Biden for families is almost down to the poverty level, $200,000 per year. Bernie Sanders is still pushing for $300,000.

I just find it interesting that republicans always push for tax reduction but don’t want to give 1500-3000 to the people. If this were couched as a tax break republicans would be all over it. The logic or lack thereof amazes me.

The only way that could be more Mormon is if he wanted $3k per wife too. I wish him and his magic underwear would fuck off.

No I don't think it would work. America is too ethnically diverse with too many points of view and conflicts of interest among it's people. Besides America has high levels of crime in it's major cities and corrupt Governments. I don't think Socialism would make life in America any better in some ways probably even worse.

Republicans were proposing to give $1000 more in stimulus to individuals making up to $50,000 and couples up to $100,000. That's in addition to the $600 they already voted for in the bill that passed, making a total of $1600.
Not that I agree with that, given that "Mr. Keynesian and Big Dog Democrat Economist who Designed the Obama Stimulus" Larry Summers says we'll be covering 3X the output gap with Biden's and other stimulus payments and warns the economy may overheat. Or when over half of the unemployed are going to receive more not to work than they'd receive from working at their old jobs.
It baffles me that Democrats would propose a $15 minimum wage in places like New Mexico and Mississippi in the Covid stimulus bill. That's unless their plan is to put people out of work and make them dependent on the government, anticipating that will create more Democratic Party voters.

That affords the Government way too much power over people. That's not a good idea.

L-17 - it is the aspiration of teh DPST/ccp party to do just that - to have ultimate, unlimited, complete and total power over the People who 'thought' they were electing One's to serve them - and elected One's to Rule and control their every aspect of life in the new United socialist soviet states of Amerika.
just ask teh DPST/ccp posters on forum - however, as their LSM does - the will spout socialist propaganda - and bow to lenin, stalin, mao , and goebbels as their heros.

Interesting - perhaps One fine day - in a wonderful world - in a time and galaxy far, far away,
the marxist minions will understand that actions /and inactions - have consequences.
fiden's EOs (executive orgasms of his handlers) - will come home to roost.
amazing!!
And perhaps some day the marxist DPST's will understand that taxing the people results in a poorer People - that fiden's hyper taxation does not bring a prosperous economy with the massive spending and taxation of teh DPST/ccp nomenklatura hanging like an anvil around teh neck of the people of America.
Perhaps one day the minions will understand that government does not create value - it only taxes and diminishes it.
But not until the Venezuelization of America comes - and likely - due to the religiosity of teh ideology of teh DPST/ccp party and its' minons - not even then.
