Impeachment vote may be had by mid next week. Republican Senator Ben Sasse says he will consider any articles forwarded by the House. Supposedly other a senators will do so as well. Moreover now Cruz has said he has always stood up against Trump when he’s been wrong. I still believe all of this is just a self internet play to eliminate Trump from 2024.

The House would rather Pence use the 25th Amendment since that would essentially stop Trump from doing anything as president through the end of his term, particularly granting Pardons or giving military orders. Once the 25th amendment is invoked Pence would serve as President for at 72 hours and Trump could “appeal” the finding. Then that would be sent to the legislature. They won’t take it up until he’s gone. If I understand the process correctly.

It more than just a matter of saving face. Dems want to jam up the 100+ Trumpys in the House and I’m sure Mitch isn’t minding an opportunity to screw Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley and a few others for forcing those votes the other night.

Also, taking Trump out with complete humiliation would break his hold on the party and media completely.

It isnt just about the 12 days.

Then there is the future benefit of showing a President he can’t send folks down to congress to overrun and take the Capitol. I mean, everyone before Trump knew that but now I suppose we can’t assume in future.

To the people who are foolish enough to believe Trump will be elected in 2024 is funny as shit to me. I could get elected before him to be POTUS now, and there is no way in hell that I could even be elected HOA president in my snooty neighborhood to do nothing because I wouldn't even vote for myself. I don't think there's time enough to make it happen. But it appears as though the House is going to introduce articles of impeachment anyway.

Trump should not be allowed to walk and the GOP sycophants who enabled him for four years should not be allowed to escape the havoc they have wrought on our country.

The best argument for NOT doing it I've heard is that it might further divide our country.
