Levianin must not watch SNL much. They have skewered Trump more than perhaps any other.

Glock-- Would you please define corporate feudalism so that we can understand your meaning. Too many buzz words, so please elucidate.

Has anyone heard about the latest butt dial to the wrong Senator. Rudy left a message about delaying the certification.

Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s attorney, reportedly left a voicemail meant to be sent to Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville in an attempt to get the senator to stall Congress from certifying the Electoral College results but instead left the message on another senator’s phone, according to a report published Wednesday night.

Corporate, relating to a corporation, especially a large company or group.

Feudalism, relating to the former social systems in medieval Europe, in which the nobility held lands from the Crown in exchange for military service, and vassals were in turn tenants of the nobles, while the peasants (villeins or serfs) were obliged to live on their lord's land and give him homage, labor, and a share of the produce, notionally in exchange for military protection.

The goal of the US Establishment since the late 1800's, and the European and Asian Establishments since the 1950's, is to erode away the middle class that came about in Europe and the Americas with the end of the Victorian era and re-establish the ruling class, now consisting of corporate plutocrats.

Following classical feudalism, the goal is to establish a plutocratic nobility which is only beholden to a central government, which they also have strong influence over. The Plutocrats will own the land, and the common man will be obliged to live on the Plutocrat's land in exchange for their service at the Plutocrats' corporations.

Historically, this has existed in smaller scales, such as coal mining towns in West Virginia, Pullman IL, Hershey PA, etc. However, more modern versions of this have gone unnoticed in core "progressive" cities, as the corporations use shell companies and child companies to manage their real estate portfolio. San Francisco, Seattle, Eugene, and Austin are rife with this.

This last year, with COVID, the momentum has accelerated and there are now global initiatives pushing toward this, such as "The Great Reset" which Biden, many moderates, and the establishment left and right have signed on for. The "Build Back Better" slogan is being used widely in campaigns across the west.

The end goal is the establishment of systems similar to India, China, S. Korea, and Japan in their current state. Extreme versions of this are often seen in science fiction dystopian futures, such as Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, etc.

Exactly who's goals that and where codified in any of our governing documents? Don't know what you're smoking, but think I don't want any of that shit.

They don't codify it, they play within the existing system and then break parts off that don't suit them when the timing is good, like water seeping into a rock and then freezing.

Case in point is Austin where I live - Dell owns TONS of property in the NE quadrant going all the way up to Round Rock. You think you get a sweet job with them, so they move you to the area, little do you know that the condo you're staying in is owned by a company owned by Dell, as well as the shopping center where you go to the grocery store, the gas station, the new credit union you signed up with, etc. You pretty much give Dell back the money it pays you.

I noticed this shit when I lived in SF. Companies driving prices and home values up so they can kick out the long time tenants, so they can move their own employees in and get them to pay half their wage back.

Now you have COVID closing mom & pop shops, but the big companies get to stay open. Those stores go out of business, the smaller-time property owners start to belly up, and then the corp with the fat wallet getting the government handouts swoops in and buys it at a steal.

Best part was the folks who got their stimulus checks enabled it. Some huge portion of the stimulus checks people got didn't go to rent, bills, etc, it went to Amazon.

Fuck, McDonalds actually makes more money from it's property investments and renting than it does from its own restaurants.

You are going to have to do a better job explaining the problem.

Who cares if the Dell employees landlord is also Dell? The Dell employees will STILL have to pay money back to a landlord, even if it is not Dell. Finincially it is irrelevant.

This is only a problem if Dell is somehow extorting above-market rents from its employees or forcing them to live in Dell owned properties.

A few generations back, the "company store" was a problem. A company store was typically a retail store owned and operated by an industrial company that was typically located in a remote area. Because of the isolation, the employees had no choice but to shop there. There stores frequently extended limited amounts of credit from which employees of the company were sometimes required to buy their groceries and other merchandise. Such an arrangement was rife with abuse.

But how is an apartment in Round Rock a remote location? Are employees of Dell required to live there?

You dropped hints that something was amiss, but gave zero explanation.

I am really curious John Barleycorn. When will you ever be right about something?

We already don't own our own land. You may not owe the bank anymore but refuse to pay your property taxes....and it's gone.

So does that mean trumpy will be homeless? He doesn't believe in paying taxes. I pay taxes like a real America and to support legal elections. That's a waste of money in Texas and Florida though.

America is smart again
