I actually believe the Doc was simply making a point to men to keep up with their health in general and attempted to use Covid data to make a relevant point. Would anyone have listened to her say 6 months ago if she randomly showed up one day to make the point that men should see their doctor regular during a random presser with a limited audience? Worst case, she was an opportunist, delivering a rational message and using some 'extra' leverage to make the point.

In the way of reminder; the current guidance is: if a family member contracts the Chinese virus from Wuhan, China, all family members stay home and away from everybody else. Frankly, I don't see most Americans with the supplies or knowledge to whip up an isolation room in their own house. It's totally doable, but unlikely. So their advise stands as a practical matter.

The reason a grocery cart is so large and has wheels is so you can fill it with beer and load some groceries on top of the beer. Serendipitous, more men are talking (at least thinking) about men's health and their family's health - and that's a good thing.

One thing - If One person in a family home tests positive for Wuhan virus - it is assumed all persons in the home are exposed and infected. some may not show symptoms. isolating One person in a family home is after the fact, unfortunately.

I'd add testing, tracing and masks to that, although we've got to up our game to truly take advantages of those. That would reduce the need for some of the extremes we're going to now.

What I think some of our esteemed fellow posters don't realize is that without these sorts of steps, your death game guess, around 1.5 million, is plausible. At least it is if the mortality rate (% of those infected who die) thrown out by the head of the CDC and by Bill Gates, around 1% or 1.2%, is right. Some of what I've read and my gut tell me it's considerably lower, but those two know more about this than any of us.

ive worked my whole life never took a government check,

but companies are gettting bail out money , now that i have an issue with, oil companies are crying cause their profits are done, too fucking bad

bail out companies and not the workers,

now lets concentrate on that issue first before crying about people getting a little wage of unemployment during this crisis,

When it is new cases on Y, and days on X, and it is roughly the same each day, over a 5 or 6 day period, that ain't exponential. That's what I'm talking about, ExNYer.

If at first it is 50 per day, and 6 days later, it is 500 per day, that portion of the curve for that graph is exponential over the time frame, like NYC.

You are correct. Irrelevant has no argument. There's no daily growth in the death rate that displays exponentiality except maybe the first day or two. Irrelevant fell for a "media panic" term like "epicenter." He's not being intellectually honest.
