but wouldn't they punch themselves out sooner, with existing Tariffs? wouldn't they tire faster, if Trump gives even a nod to supporting Hong Kong?

Nope. Think long game, not to mention who benefits the longer it drags out. Recall the Chi's have already devalued their currency and the tariffs have not impacted Americas. The Chinese think holding out until after 2020 elections would be good for them because they may have some socialist sucker in office here. Trump says, OK, let's drag this out, with more tariffs in place and the clear threat that the next round gets even more austere the longer it takes.


Meanwhile, back in Freedom land, Trump brokers a temporary deal with the UK, which locks the Chi's out of the UK. The UK deal is also akin to Trump getting greek up the EU's keester for free, as it more or less creates a three way free trade zone into the EU through the UK.


In essence, Trump is getting a three way and greek for free. What a stable business genius. All the while, the Chi's are sucking hind titty and sinking further behind and loosing leverage while businesses start moving out of China. So in that sense, he's getting some Asian ass gratis as well. What a perv...
