Metro rail from alexandria to DC

Does anyone take the Metro rail early morning into DC.
Was going to be there for about 6 months and thought to stay outside city and travel in.

While it's a great idea, the Metro system is shutting down all train stations south of DCA airport from Memorial Day until some time after Labor Day. If you are headed her after that point, it would be a fine idea, just know that even when Metro is "working" it's still terrible and with every day that passes more unreliable.

Stay outside the city and commute in, just dont stay on the blue or yellow line routes, which Alexandria is. Places along the orange line are nice.
