Talking with Cassman last night and seems both of us and others have been staying in and being quite.
I know my reasons, lack of desire maybe weather, trying to regroup after taxes due at end of year and insurance. For some reason all of mine come at the end of year and quite costly.
Just wondering about everyone else including providers, as to what do you think of why it seems slow lately.
I cannot remember if it is always like this at the first of the year. Seems the same on OH2.

Well for the last three months I haven’t been staying in at all. In fact I’ve been more active in this time frame than I was for the previous 12 months. I even put up two reviews and I haven’t done one of those in almost four years. I wanted to add to the OH2 database and thought well it’s just a cut and paste to put them here too.

Last year my ATF moved away and when that happened I pretty much took 5 months off. I only saw one lady once during that time. Then I decided to get back out and find a new ATF.

Heck I almost put up an ISO stating “Seeking new ATF, PM to be considered”.

I decided to go the other route and do it the old fashioned way of seeing each lady at least once and see what happens. Funny thing though, when doing a survey of active ladies in the SBC I was shocked at the total number. You see I remember the bad old days when I could count the number of active ladies in the area on one hand, now I need both hands and my feet to count them all. This may be part of the “slowness” issue from the ladies point of view. From the hobbyist prospective there is a lot to choose from right now.

I’m trying to find the best fit for me and I don’t want to leave any stone unturned. So although I’ve been diligently working my way through the list I’ve only seen each one, one time. So the search continues.

From a historical point of view SBC always seems to get a flood of providers, especially traveling ones, during the holiday season and then things slow way down until after Mardi Gras. Then activity picks back up. That’s just my perception of watching things around here for more years than I want to admit.

I agree!! I think it has been very active.. besides Thanksgiving, Christmas I feel that it’s been extra busy I think it was even More busy when everything got shut down for a while I got a lot of calls from people I’ve heard from in a long time

Harley, yes it is slow on Eccie ... in SBC & over here in Tyler (NETX Forum). I feel it is even slower in NETX than the SBC Forum. Few providers advertising and less convo going on daily or even weekly. I guess the reason I gravitate to you Cajuns so much is you have more discussion over here than we have in NETX! OH2 is even slower. I let my p411 account go so I can't speak to how slow that site is now for SBC or NETX.

However, that doesn't mean I am having fewer play dates. Still playing 4-6 play dates per month. Been at it long enough that I have found other neighborhoods to play in. They each have their own rules to play by of course.

But like you, I do spend less in the first quarter of each year for many of the reasons you listed. I own two businesses and year end book keeping along with pending taxes occupy a lot of my attention.

I guess what I truly miss is the amount of convo that used to go on amongst the hobby community from both Hobbiest and Providers. Our 2 forums suffered after the early 2018 shutdown. They haven't recovered yet and might never.

I feel we Hobbiest are always going through various phases. Heck, when I joined the hobby back in 2015, I wanted to visit ANY provider who came through Tyler. Yep, the kid in the candy store analogy. However, as I have matured as a Hobbiest, my taste have changed. Now, instead of trying to play with ever provider who visits Tyler, I am more selective in searching out characteristics in a provider, UTR, or SB that will lead to chemistry that will hopefully lead to even better chemistry on repeat visits.
