Default #SESTA & #FOSTA Tips (And the first example of a legit site going down)

City Vibe is already down. Expect others to follow.

http://www.cityvibe.com

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ladies (and Gents as applicable):
- Create a mailing list. Mutually prescreen as much as viably possible.
- Use a VPN. This masks your IP address and will make it seem the you are logging in or using your device from somewhere else. My VPN makes it appear that I'm currently logging in and posting from Mexico City. Use the VPN On every device. All the time. (Some are free, others are subscription
based.)
- Use an encrypted email. (examples: Protonmail, Hushmail, SafeOffice)
- Create TWO encrypted email accounts. One is primary. The other is for recovery.
- Fix all your sex work accounts so that they link to your new encrypted email.
- Don't link anything to your real-world facebook, twitter linked-in etc...
- DO NOT use Gmail or Google Drive. Google drive is already deleting accounts for sharing pornographic clips and pics (Also consider that the gov't can purchase your usage history the same way businesses can.)
- Same goes for calendar management: don't put any appointment information in any calendar that's not encrypted.
- Don't use iCloud (same reasons) The gov't can request any of your private information.
- DO NOT USE YOUR REAL PHONE or phone number. Do not add an app that is billed to your personal credit card. If you MUST use an app, pay for it using a pre-paid card and preferably not through your real-world iCloud account.
- Buy a burner phone with cash. Reload it with cash. Do not register it using any of your real information. Put a VPN on that phone. Add an encrypted email.
- Don't post nudes. Don't post sex acts.
- Don't show your face. I know you are gorgeous. But facial recognition software has been causing major issues for ladies who work in the US and show their face and then travel out of the country (even for leisure travel). For instance: The Border Patrols at the Canada/US border utilize facial recognition software and ladies have been banned on both sides of the borders. As with much technology, you can expect facial recognition to become more widely used.
- If you have a website, consider moving it to an off shore hosting site. (I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of website management but I do know an offshore host that does not cooperate with the US gov't is most safe.) GoDaddy and the like will be censoring your sites and you risk losing them entirely. Migrate them to a safer host as soon as you can.
- Drop the sex talk. Don't use terms like GFE, PSE, DATY, Incall/Outcall, Donations, Roses or other blatant sex related terms that can be associated with sex work or sex acts.
- Think, talk and act in terms of dating and modeling. Re-Write your ads and profiles on all sites (ECCIE, Twitter, Instagram etc...) to reflect a desire to date, be dated, or model or hire a model.
- And despite the strong talk here on this site about money: Do not advertise rates in exchange for anything, ESPECIALLY specific services or menu items. Ideally this should be handled via encrypted email or message platforms.
- Rethink the entire review process. Your words and acts can be used against you.
Trolls and naysayers will call me paranoid; I call myself prepped.
Thanks for sharing Evelyn. As usual the govt will pass a law to make their job harder rather than easier. I swear we elect people on both sides of the isle that couldn’t operate a successful lemonade stand! But I digress, if for some it all goes dark I guess either I’ll be forced to retire or only see the handful of providers I have info stored on for return visits! You’re on the list Evelyn! Xoxo
Alpha's cautions and recommendations are spot on, imo, and likely some folks will follow through, demanding as the issues may be.
Right now, the guvmint (both state and city/county and, to a degree the feds) appears aiming at the websites, not at the "legit" hobbyist and providers as individuals populating and using them. And, unlikely guvmint will spend much resources (in the very near future) to target us as individuals, but trying to make life as we know it more difficult by hitting websites is certainly an aim.
Thing is, as valuable as individual and group "lists" may be and have been (think Yahoo, for example) lists always shrink unless they are very dynamic in adding new peeps to offset natural losses. As long as additions can be properly verified, that is, the dynamic continues.
Very sure I am that even as I type these words, there are 'net sites being created to contain and support the needs of the hobbying communities to continue flourishing.
As I noted earlier, imo:
The many centuries of attempts to shutter the "world's oldest profession" have only proven the Power of P4P ain't going away anytime soon.
Nothing in the federal legislation to date changes much of anything in the way of federal prostitution laws regarding individual providers or hobbyists. The feds do not outlaw prostitution per se, only trafficking and underage and, of course, underage imaging.
I'm betting he'll sign it since Stormy Daniels is running him through the ringer. He'll be able to call the escort side of her business illegal and hence throw stones at her and call her a criminal so as to negate his own wrongdoings. I basically have zero faith that DT will fix this legislation.
Alpha thanks for information. I have about 90 of your suggestions in place. Since we are already in an election cycle both sides will jump on this.
How will effect websites that are not based in US? Example P411?
From what I've read, offshore sites won't be hit as hard. However, accessing them via CONUS servers and ISPs will be the issue. That's why it important to use that VPN and perhaps even use your burner phone to surf those sites so that your local ISP doesn't see your activities.
As per the bill, if they agree to cooperate, they will shut it down too. If they don't, they'll get a court order to do it. Pretty sure everything as we know it currently is going away.
I like NordVPN. You can use it on multiple devices using the same account. It's easy to install and use. I paid for mine using a Vanilla Sky prepaid so it doesn't track to my personal accounts. (Research VPNs using google and read articles from PC Magazine and the like for other recommendations and reviews on the various VPNs - you want one with a "Kill-Switch")
Looks like NordVPN has a great offer right now: https://nordvpn.com/special/deal/?nv...SABEgJlmfD_BwE
Even off shore sites will be watched and blocked from getting in. I've seen human trafficking first hand in other countries. They have sites that do exist however there is an umbrella blocker that prevents them from showing up in the US. Even some places in the US block escort sites. WiFi through VIA trans believe it has an umbrella blocker that you cannot get into eccie or any other site for that matter. So you can imagine if a company as simple as VIA can have one then imagine the government having one. Don't believe me? Go hop onn a bus ge3tt on the WiFi and try to access eccie and see what pops up
U.S. and state court orders cannot always be served offshore since many jurisdictions will not enforce them absent very compelling reasons and solid evidence except within a few countries with laws similar to those of the U.S.
So offshore based web host servers are very unlikely to pay any attention unless the host owner itself has a U.S. nexus.
Seriously doubt the feds can compel local ISPs to censor any foreign i.p. addresses, and one might expect some serious resistance, too, from the very large providers like the major phone and cable and cell service companies which have extensive resources to resist.
Some free wifi blocks the sites. McDonald's and Starbucks is one.
Will it help if websites are 100% private membership only?
