Liberals don't want people to have a good life. That's why once prospering cities like Detroit are in total ruin due to fifty years of Democrat politicians fucking things up.

I wonder how many in this thread know that the bonus was negotiated by the union long before there was even a tax bill. The bonus was going to happen no matter what

good for America How about good for the top 1%. There is nothing in this tax bill that will make America great again.

http://www.epi.org/publication/top-c...e-0-1-percent/

From 1978 to 2014, inflation-adjusted CEO compensation increased 997 percent, a rise almost double stock market growth and substantially greater than the painfully slow 10.9 percent growth in a typical worker’s annual compensation over the same period.
The CEO-to-worker compensation ratio, 20-to-1 in 1965, peaked at 376-to-1 in 2000 and was 303-to-1 in 2014, far higher than in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s.

That's true but the original amount was much smaller the tax bill allowed it to be increased.

How does AT&T know what their taxes/profits will be next year?

This is political ploy by AT&T to kiss Trumps ass so he will get the DOJ off their ass and hopefully he will leave them alone about CNN.

I can see the Democrat Campain Slogans for 2018.

"We were against giving Americans a Tax Break because it desciminates against voters who are lazy and don't pay taxes.

"We boycotted any business that gave it's employees bonuses and raises because it desciminates against those too lazy to work.

"We want young people to by health insurance they do not need so Democrat Voters who don't work can have insurance"

We want to squeeze every drop of profit from Corporations through oppressive taxes so they can't afford to create jobs for working Americans.

With us, the USA will be the Lap Dog of the World, not the Leader of the Free World.

Yeh. That'll get those voters wanting Nancy and Chuckie in charge.

shows what you don't know

they have a pretty good idea and to that they have added an additional 14%

they are spending it on expansion and salaries and, rationally, on the bottom line to support the stock price for the investors

investors, which include just about every state and local government union pension plan, further shoring up the strength of those plans for cops and firefighters and garbage workers, and elderly living off dividends

According to the financial site NerdWallet, the 10 most profitable U.S. companies paid an average federal tax rate of just 9 percent last year. The group includes heavyweights Exxon Mobil, Apple, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase and General Electric. (Hat tip: Barry Ritholtz.)
The effective corporate tax rate has been on its way down for decades, recently hitting a 40-year low even as corporate profits have reached an all-time high. Many of the companies that have seen their tax rates fall in recent years — including Exxon Mobil, Verizon, General Electric and AT&T — are among the biggest spenders when it comes to lobbying, according to a recent analysis by the Sunlight Foundation.

What this GOP tax plan is do nothing for noninvestors....Looks like they are picking winners and losers.

Social Security also covers more people than any other type of retirement benefit. The great majority of retired Americans age 65 and older (87 percent) received Social Security income in 2009, up from 69 percent in 1962. In contrast, only about half (53 percent) of older Americans have asset income in retirement, a proportion that is unchanged since 1962.
