Question for Loki re/ thread closings Hmmm, post number seven DID ask for this to be added to the guidelines.
Maybe they could write it into guideline #12.

Loki- You could add a sticky to the welcome wagon with the so called guidance that is out there somewhere not visible to the general user. I think there would have been a lot fewer closed threads and point issued if you had done that.
Maybe you just like to have to work harder.

Only ST.C alters the guidelines, not local mods. it's not for me to say or do such without explicit instructions from the ownership.
As for the situation with the welcome threads as it was in Upstate... as I said previously..it almost never needs to be done...so its not a big deal.
HOWEVER, several members began digging up welcome threads from YEARS AGO...just to bust balls.
By doing so, it unfairly drives the recent welcome threads of the newest members off the front page where they may not be seen or participated in. Not a good dynamic for some newbie trying to learn the ropes.
Those members driving that agenda were...warned...then warned again...then pointed...some pointed out for failing to follow staff instructions.
There are many operations/actions/dynamics that are not explicitly called out in the guidelines that staff works with everyday. I don't see how this needs to be an issue. The truth is, it's just another way for certain members to drive their agenda.
Peace on earth!
