I'll join in with the others in requesting that OFD reconsider his departure.
We need honest posters who stand by their convictions. I may not always agree with OFD (or any other) but I do value his posts.
Any post, as long as it's not a banned subject, doesn't involve personal attacks, vendettas or blatantly false information is valuable. It is literally the point of this whole site. Escort/Client Community Information Exchange
IMHO I think the board will recover from all this recent drama, in time. Effective, impartial and consistent moderation will make the process faster, if it keeps going like it has been, it'll take longer. Time will tell. A big part of the problem, most likely (IMHO disclaimer) is that there is a certain amount ego involved on both sides. It's just human nature and it almost always makes shit worse.
At the risk of becoming a broken record, the responsibility for the mess this has all become rests squarely with the moderators, and no one else can "fix" it. I personally do not care if it gets fixed by the current moderators or if new mods must be appointed. Whatever is best for the community as a whole.
I think It's time for me to go re-read and brush up on the community guidelines.

The idea of allowing some retarded idiot with a modtarderator badge dictate to me how it is going to be is laughable on its face.
Cpalm doesn't run jack shit. rrabbit doesn't run jack shit. I don't recall a recent post in your local forum where either of them state they run jack shit.
If you have a modtard who is too fucking weak to acknowledge a mistake and take the face smear that goes with it, that is his fucking problem; not yours or mine. If he prefers the death of a thousand cuts, who am I to council him to a different path?
I like to thinck of modtards who refuse to adhere to the vision set forth by the Owner of this site as baby seals......the Owner has a soft spot for baby seals. He thincks they will eventually grow out of it (he is a romantic like that until he is not).......me, I love clubbing baby seals.

Dearhunter,
Your points are irrefutable, and I'm sure they apply to you perfectly. I feel much the same way about most of what you said.
It's also irrefutable that moderators, simply by virtue of holding their position, have a great deal of influence on and can, for good or bad, greatly effect the way their particular playpen functions.
Experienced members, such as you and I, are not greatly affected personally by such BS. We've been around and we look at all this content differently. Hindsight is powerful and usually acquired through hard experience. Even the late, great and sorely missed SFRedbook (IMHO the greatest hobby forum ever) wasn't immune to crap like this. It was also one of the most effectively moderated forums of any type that I've ever subscribed to. How I wish there was an archive of that site that somehow escaped the do-goody grips of the G-men. There was so much great content there.
But I digress, back to the topic at hand.
It's the newbies and less experienced that really suffer from a poor, hostile or inconsistent forum environment. I only care because we need the new members, men and women alike, for the board to continue as an effective resource. It is literally the only reason I'm even thinking about any of this. I want there to be new providers for me to sample, variety is the spice of life, and one of the main reasons I do this. I want there to be new guys to see and review these new ladies. For that to happen, the forum needs to be a place where people feel a certain level of comfort to express themselves. Right now, it's sliding the other direction.
As I said earlier, I've seen this sort of thing many times before, mainly on forums related to mainstream pursuits, but the fundamentals remain the same.

Bwahahaahaa. I almost upchucked lunch.
Personally, I'd prefer clubbing with Seal's ex-baby Heidi Klum.
But do club away dh, please.
After all I did promise St. C I'd keep an eye out for him and let him know if something like this ever happens again.

Not control, no. Can't argue with that. There is no real control, that's true.
Strong ability to influence, if the job is done properly, absolutely. You have hit on the real reason that being a mod of any forum is so difficult. It's a bit like herding cats.....on crack, but that's the moderator's job. Add in the nature of the subject matter of this one and, well, you get the picture. It's a big factor in why I no longer moderate any forums. It gets exhausting, if you do it very well, almost no one notices because things run well, and burnout is a constant companion after awhile.
A forum mod is one of those jobs where you only get any real attention when you are doing a poor job. When you are doing it well, no one even thinks about it.
I'm not defending the moderators. Far from it. In fact I don't think they have been measuring up to the task, but I do recognize and appreciate the difficulties inherent in the job. I hope it's just burnout, inattention, laziness, or apathy and not something more fundamental and ugly. But I'm an optimist at heart.....

There are modtards here who get offended that I call them modtards. They view it as a lack of respect. I called St.C "Christopher Robin" when he banned me. That one still gives me a chuckle.
My point being, a modtard only has the power you give him as a community.
There is a reason Houston is wide open like it is. The local community has broken more than one modtard who came in thincking he was going to fix the Houston problem.
You get the forum you deserve.

Ah ha, clarity on the remark of we deserve the board we have. A very enlightening statement. Now that the WK's and fan boys have slunk back into the darkness, the ones still standing are the ones that have the spine and nuts enough to stand up to the bullshit and call it exactly what it is without worrying about the mindset of the sheep being herded. It's a damn shame that the few member that had the guts to face this and call it out had to fight thru the other members that can't, or refused to see what the overall bigger picture there is at stake. I for one, respect and appreciate each and every member that chose to shed some light on some things most people didn't want a part of.
Sometimes the situation warrants us to reach out to some outside help, in this case, the mod in question left the members no choice but to go outside the normal circle and ask for some help.

There is a mod in bama, who use to be kool as shit,we use to bust fake reviews, mandles, and enjoyed the board together, then he grew up and became a modtard,I was a member of the old board and this board from day one,I can honestly say the board has gone to shit, all the long timers are gone, fiction rules over facts, you can't say shit without a bitch saying I'm going to give you timeout,I have been banned once for posting a picture of a very dangerous provider who has caused havoc on this board, and I would do it again to help my fellow dawgs,Bring back BIG C,NOW that was a mod
